This is a Grant Ward redemption fic and its also my first so let me know in the comments how I'm doing and how I can improve. This first chapter will be short but from here on they will get longer. The story is told from different characters point of views at certain times. I have a few ideas were this story might go but I'm still working on it.
(Before Skye goes by Daisy)
Coulson:
Coulson knew as soon as he made the decision to let Ward back on the Bus that there would be chaos.
Yes Ward had screwed up majorly and had betrayed the whole team including his adopted daughter Skye, which he would make him pay dearly for but he was still a part of their messed up little family, he was part of their team.
Skye had a hard time when Ward was exposed, he remembered it, the look on her face when she realized that her and Grant could never be.
No father wants to lose his daughters affection when she falls in love with the man of her dreams but he knew Ward, he trusted him and had made peace with Ward being the object of Skye's affection.
Skye had grown hardened after that, cold in some instances, a better agent but not the Skye that he knew and loved bubbly and happy at any little mission were she could hack into somewhere new and it hopefully be just a little more challenging than the last.
It was like the broken pieces of her heart slowly building back up grew dark and unfeeling.
He knew that Skye would be least happiest with his decision next to May who had her obvious reasons that he tried to forget every day.
He just hoped she could forgive him and see his side of the story with the new information he had been receiving on Ward while he was in treatment.
It wasn't like Ward had been tormented enough by Garret both physically and mentally all those years that he needed that he needed to be berated by his team as well.
Grant had already served his jail time at the new Shield base as part of the agreement he had worked out with Maria Hill instead of taking him to the Fridge like everyone else had wanted.
He had been required to see a therapist on weekly basis as part of his treatment which had helped in Coulson's opinion and would still be required to do so once he boarded the Bus. The therapist had been giving Coulson weekly updates as well as videos and other information she had gathered telling the story behind Grants recent behavior, and the tremendous progress he had been making is what ultimately led up to his decision of letting Ward back on the Bus.
He knew Maria was bringing Ward straight from the facility at noon and that he wouldn't have enough time to talk to Skye and the others before they got there.
Coulson just prayed for the best and hoped that he could put there little family back together.
