Disclaimer: I do not own the three little pigs they are public domain and therefore I make no claim to them and I am not gaining anything but the satisfaction of knowing people are reading it from this story.
There were once three little pigs, growing up together with their
mother. Soon it came to be the time to throw them out on their tails
and see if they could fend for themselves.
The first little pig took the money his mother had given him and built himself a house of the cheapest material he could find, straw. With the bit of money he had leftover the first little pig got an insurance plan. Determined to be protected against anything, even Big Bad Wolves, he got the most comprehensive plan he could find, even taking a steady job so he could keep up with the payments.
Now the second little pig the money his mother had given to him and combined it with a little he'd saved. He built a house for himself made of sticks.
"That way I will have a house stronger than one made of straw, so the only insurance I'll need is for Big Bad Wolf damage," the second pig reasoned. The second Brother also took a job and started saving for a trip to Bermuda.
The third little pig used the money his mother had given him along with the money he'd saved ever since he was a "wee-little-piglet" to build himself a strong sturdy house made of brick.
"Nothing will harm my strong sturdy brick house" said the third pig. Then He took the leftover money and got a bank loan, to start attending college.
Life continued on like this for a year or two, each brother content in their situations. Then one day a huge storm hit the small bit of coast these three piglets lived on. The storm was a raging hurricane and its high-speed winds and torrential rain took their tool.
When the first brother returned from evacuation he found his straw house totally demolished, the only bit left was the basement and foundation. The first little pig shrugged, pulled out his cell-phone and promptly called his insurance agency.
When the second little pig returned to his home he found parts of it destroyed. He pulled out his insurance card only to realize he was only insured against Big Bad Wolf attacks, not such a horribly awesome terror as a hurricane. Sighing dejectedly he used the funds in his vacation account to make the necessary repairs to his home.
When the third little pig arrived back at home he was pleased to see his house fully standing.
"Aha!" He thought, my in penetrable brick house withstood even the force of a hurricane." But as he opened the door and went inside it soon became apparent that the entire basement was flooded and much of the rest of the house showed flood damage. Not only did he not have flood insurance, this little piggy had no insurance at all, and with impending student loans the only thing he had left to do was to return home to finish out his college days with his mom.
The moral of the story is:
Make sure you've got the right insurance coverage.
