"Look, I know this has to be hard for you," Regina said.
"You have no idea what this is like for me," Snow replied.
"No, I guess not, but I was hoping we could talk. I don't want to … Emma's hurting and I … I don't know how to help her because it's not me she wants to be near right now. She wants her mom."
Snow turned away, staring at anything but Regina.
Her former stepmother was sitting across from her at the kitchen table after showing up at her place. It had only been two weeks since Regina and Emma had been here together. Snow knew something was up as soon as they entered because Emma was nervous and Regina kept looking at Emma as if she was expecting something. They were actually sitting there around the table when Emma took Regina's hand in front of her and Charming.
Snow couldn't even recall what was said at first. All she saw was her daughter's hand on Regina's. She was snapped out of it by the word "dating."
She had not reacted well to it. She knew that, but what had Emma expected from her?
"I know you have to reason to support my relationship with Emma," Regina said, bringing her back to the present. "I have no illusions about who I am and the things I have done – especially to you and your family. But I do love her, which is why I am here now. I will do whatever it takes to make her happy. And she can't be happy if you aren't going to support her."
"Are you looking for my blessing then?"
"No. I am hoping you will at least talk to her, reach out to her. Let her talk to you yourself. That's all I ask."
"It's not that she is gay."
"I know. It's about me."
Snow nodded.
"I don't know what to say. I know I can't ask you for your forgiveness or anything like that. I don't deserve it," Regina said. "Like I said I just want Emma to be happy. Please, think about it."
Regina got up to leave.
"I don't know where this relationship with my daughter is going, but if you hurt her Regina, you will learn what my real wrath can be like," Snow said.
"I promise I won't hurt her. I would die first."
"Good. Tell Emma I will call her tonight," Snow said. "And Regina, if you ever think of calling me mom … you will wish you were never born."
"Understood," Regina smiled.
