DISCLAIMER: I don't own Yugioh, or anything related, unless you count my illegal disc of all the Japanese Yugioh themes and an insurmountable amoung of cards I don't even play with.

A/N: Last night I stayed up until three in the morning, reading fics and trying to force a plot bunny on myself. Finally deciding to get off the computer, I decided to have it come from my own mind. It took me ten minutes to come up with "Openyour eyes." At first it was figurative (ie: "Open your eyes and look around, Pharaoh. Our age is over.") Then, er, it became an interactive argument, and then this.

n.n; What's up with Kura-kun? Heheh... But I like this ficlet.

On the count of three,

"Open your eyes."

He complied.

"What do you see?"

It was a beautiful day at the park. All his friends were over there playing Frisbee. It looked like a lot of fun. He wished he was able to join.

He also saw the person speaking to him smirk.

"Exactly why can't you join?"

He didn't want to answer that. But… Well, it was obvious that he didn't have a physical body of his own…

"Do you want to?"

Yes…

"You see them."

This wasn't a question, thus he had no reply, only to watch on.

"Do they see you?"

Well, duh, obviously not? How exactly would a mortal be able to see an ancient Egyptian spirit?

"I see you."

You're like me, he said. You're exactly like me.

The speaker gave a hallow laugh.

"Exactly right, Pharaoh. Our day and age is over. What more is there for us here? We're invisible anyways. I can see you pining, Pharaoh, for that little hikari of yours."

Hypocrite, the other said. Typical, hypocritical Tomb Robber. You pine after your own little Ryou.

Hallow laughter.

"True, true. It's true that I love my hikari. But he doesn't see me in any light. I can only watch as my heart tears. You're lucky. At least your "aibou" knows of your existence."

He snorted. Lucky you say? Being pushed away is harder than never having been there in the first place.

"And how would you know that?"

Silence.

"And look, we can't even catch them as they fall."

Indeed, Yugi had tripped and fallen, scraping his knees in the process. His Yami could only tear about how he couldn't help.

"And watch as somebody else picks him up."

The former pharaoh turned away, so he couldn't see the looks Yugi gave Jou. So he couldn't see the way Jou picked Yugi up and carried him to the table for treatment, bridal style.

"Look."

With out any other choice, he did. He saw the eyes of Yugi, who only had eyes for Jou. It could be seen in the way that he looked up adoringly at the blond.

"Watch your heart tearing."

And he did.

"They don't see us."

The whisperings in his ear tickled.
