Prussia sighed, on the balcony outside the window, he stood on the second floor, simply looking out into the green scenery. After having returned to Germany, he was happier than ever, he smiled more, and laughed more. But nothing returned to how it used to be. At least not with his situation.
He was no longer a country, no territory, no citizens. Sometimes he wondered why he hadn't vanished yet, maybe he was simply there for Germany, so the poor man wouldn't lose his mind with worry, and stress. All the financial issues after the second war had him nearly crushed. That and he'd lost half his land mass.
On top of that, two superpowers were threatening to have an all-out war. The Cold War was what they were calling it now… But if it got any more serious than what it was, it could turn out to be a third world war, and no one needed that. Prussia sighed, rubbing his forehead. He turned from his scenery with closed eyes, just to bump right into a hard object.
"Ow." He sighed, eyes opening to look up and see Germany, looking down at him with worry.
"Are you alright?"
"Of course… Don't worry so much, I'm the older brother here. That's my job."
Germany laughed lightly, before walking past the man and leaning against the railing of the balcony. "Brother, I truly am happy to have you back-."
"But your country is falling apart, and I am no help." Prussia filled in the gap afterward with a soft sigh.
"That wasn't what I was going to say." Germany sadly shook his head and Prussia approached him, leaping up onto the balcony's railing beside his brother.
"But it's true. I have no military, nor money."
Germany leaned back, straightening his posture and moving in front of Prussia, hands settling on his waist, he leaned his chin on his shoulder and hugged him closely. Prussia jumped at first, unsure of his actions before they were close and his eyes went half-lidded, he wrapped his arms around Germany's neck and sighed into his chest.
"I worry about losing you." Germany whispered, holding him closer and Prussia sighed again, gently this time.
"Germany… I am proud of you. You've grown to be so strong, and even in defeat you will carry on, and you will grow to be ever stronger. You are resilient like I was, stubborn, and self-motivating. You don't need me you know."
"And yet I still don't know what I'd do without you."
"Carry on." Prussia mumbled and Germany frowned.
"Don't say that."
Prussia suddenly felt a light feeling in his chest that spread through his body, like his earthly connections were being severed somehow. It felt warm, and quite nice actually, he truly felt at ease, and instantly knew… He truly was no longer a country. And he was okay with that.
"Germany… I love you."
The blonde haired man felt as his older brother literally began to disappear in his arms, and he held him tighter, knowing there was nothing he could do to change what was happening, but desperately wished he could.
"I love you too Prussia."
The frail man's body dispersing suddenly into golden flecks, disappearing from Germany's arms, what he left behind was his Iron Cross necklace that Germany held close to his chest. His brother was finally no more, and up until the very end, he still admired him for standing strong through all those years, for teaching him how to be a man, how to fight in war and never surrender. His downfall being never to know when to surrender however. And Germany would have to learn from his brothers mistakes, and to raise a strong country, that his citizens could be proud of.
"I'll carry on…"
Drama-ness… At first I'd planned a one-shot or something… But it kind of turned into this OTL
Sorry… Hope you like it anyway though haha!
