A/N: I have this theory (I don't know why) that Pam would like costume dramas, but that Eric would hate them on principle. This is just some silliness in relation to that, my apologies if it's OOC I just wanted to play around with this scenario.

Disclaimer: I own nothing.

Morbid Fascination

Eric took one step into the room and promptly turned on his heel in order to leave it again, but Pam called him back.

"Is there something you wanted?" she asked, her eyes never leaving the screen.

Eric turned around slowly, "It can wait," he assured her, grimacing as he caught sight of the screen.

"You know, if you gave it a chance, you might actually enjoy it," Pam commented absently as he made another attempt to leave the room.

Eric took in the sight of Pam in her hot pink negligee and thought that there were several things in that room he might enjoy but Pride and Prejudice was not one of them.

"I doubt it," he ground out, making to leave once more.

Pam shrugged, "Suit yourself," she said, turning her attention back to the screen.

Later he would tell himself that it was her easy acceptance that gave him pause and prevented him from leaving the room; not the ripple of pleasure he felt from her as Mr. Darcy came onto the screen.

"…don't you think he's the handsomest man you've ever seen girls?" Mrs. Bennet gushed.

Eric snorted and Pam looked up at him in amusement, "I thought you weren't going to watch this?"

Eric shot her a dirty look and she sniggered, before wisely turning her attention back to the screen.

Several hours later Eric was sitting on the couch with Pam cuddled up against his side watching the credits roll at the end of the last episode.

Pam poked him in the side, "I told you that you would like it," she teased.

"I never said I enjoyed it, it was…morbid fascination," he replied smoothly.

"Liar."

"Romantic."

"Cynic."

"Realist," he corrected her, "I'm a realist, not a cynic."

"Whatever."

Eric smirked, knowing he'd won the argument.

"So what now?" he asked her.

Pam grinned and held up another DVD, "Emma," she replied gleefully.

Eric raised his eyes to heaven, but made no objection as she slipped the disc into the DVD player…
