I don't own Young & Hungry
Gabi decided to take Sofia's advice and take the next day off. She couldn't face Josh. Sofia, being the best breakup buddy ever, also took the day off to wallow in their sorrows together.
"Chinese, popcorn, rom-com marathon and ice cream should do the trick don't you think Gabi?" Sofia asked.
"Yeah. I guess so. I'm just so bummed. I really thought we were going to be great together and we barely made it a week. A week!" Gabi finished making the popcorn.
Later in the afternoon after watching several movies, Sofia had fallen asleep. Gabi was dozing when Richard Gere's character in Pretty Woman popped up out of the limo with roses and proceeded to climb the fire escape. The hollering on the screen woke Gabi up. She watched the scene with a new appreciation, having almost experienced this herself.
Meanwhile, across town, Josh wasn't doing much better. His good bottle of scotch was getting low. He remembered the last time he felt like this. It was late and raining and he had decided to climb her fire escape with roses. He briefly considered repeating it but was too fearful of being rejected again. He hated that after all they had been through, they failed so quickly. He had just felt so much pressure to do everything and for it to be perfect. As easy as giving up sounded, getting over her would be incredibly difficult. There definitely wasn't enough scotch in the world for that.
"I should call her. Or text her. No. No that would be too awkward. I need to see her. A quick shower and I'll feel better too." Josh mumbled to himself.
While Josh was in the shower Gabi let herself in, and after hearing the water running, decided to wait on the couch with roses. "Got my keys, my phone, now I just need to get roses and get my girl back." Josh said aloud to himself as he went down the steps. He stopped and smiled when he saw Gabi waiting with roses. "Well I guess I don't need to get those last two..."
"Haha I guess you don't. I guess we do share a brain." Gabi beamed. "I came over here because I realized after all the ice cream, popcorn and rom-coms that I didn't want to get over you. I couldn't. And when I said we both need to grow up, maybe we could do it together?"
"I'd like that very much. Together sounds a whole lot better than apart. I think we put too much pressure on us for everything to be perfect. I don't want perfect. I want you. Do you think we can start over?" Josh was hopeful.
"Yes." Josh closed the gap between them and kissed Gabi. As the heat rose they made their way to the bedroom and finally had the do-over they both wanted, and needed.
