It was a dark and chilly day in the city of New York. Alone on the snow covered sidewalks, was a redheaded woman dressed in sweats. Her breath came out in little white clouds as she jogged, her headphones blasting music into her ears. This, said woman, was none other than Natasha Romanoff; Agent of S.H.I.E.L.D and new member of the Avengers Initiative. Aka, the infamous Black Widow.
Natasha never really minded the cold, she just loved the feeling of solitude whenever she was on a run. She had to get away from the chaos in what is now the Avengers Tower. Thor, who was visiting from Asgard, was yelling about his poptarts, Tony and Steve were arguing more than usual, Bruce was no where to be found (although she understood that), and Clint was perfectly silent, something she found to be the loudest thing of all.
Clint had said few words to her, or anyone really since Manhattan. But it always seemed like he was... avoiding her. She hated it. She missed talking to her partner... her best friend. Natasha shook the thought away, focusing on her jogging. She made a quick turn around, heading back to the tower. She silently prayed to any god above, that things would have calmed down at least slightly. Boy was she wrong.
She walked into the tower, things scattered around the room. A deep frown settled upon her face as she went into automatic defense mode. She pulled a gun from her sweats, always having one on her as she walked to the elevator. She pressed the button, growling when she realized it was out of order. She sighed as she slowly, cautiously made her way up the stairs. When she got to the main floor she saw Clint, staring out at the city from a gaping hole in the wall. She held her gun at her side as she cautiously whispered, "Clint?"
(Yeah, cliff hanger! First of all, I'd like to thank an absolutely amazing friend of mine! He's my inspiration :) Second, I like reviews. So, please review and I hope you enjoyed!)
