Why I don't miss

Three people sat huddled in the kitchen. One was dressed in black pants, slippers and grasping a kunai and the other wearing a pair of shorts and a vest, she too was wielding a kunai. The third man was garbed totally in black, shivering because of the rain sat opposite them.

"Agriatou, Dan, Kimari-chan for seeing me unannounced." The man said quietly taking a slug of sake.

Dan snorted "You had better have a reason Harry, for dropping in on me and my wife when your daughter is up stairs asleep."

Harry stared at them "I always do. How is she? I'm here with the latest payment as per usual." With that Harry reached into his cloak and pulled out a scroll, pulsing chakra through it several dozen bundles of ryo appeared.

"Why do you do this to yourself? Isolate yourself from your daughter? She deserves to know the truth and at least meet you." Kimari stated.

Harry snorted "I can't…I have stuff I need to do…Should I meet her, all of this will be for nought. I staged my death for a reason, I brought Tenten to the two people I could trust with my life."

"What is this stuff? Surely you can ask Hokage-sama…"

"I CAN'T! I NEED CONCRETE PROOF! The Hokage doesn't want me poking around the corpses to try and find the roots of the tree. Should Danzo know I'm alive, he will stop at nothing to get me or Tenten under his control because of our Kekkei Genkai."

This stunned the two retired jonin "What is your Kekkei Genkai?"

"I call it Eagle eye. When using ranged weaponry everything slows down, it means you cannot miss a target. It then evolves into combat intuition, grab a weapon and you'll instinctively wield it like you have wielded it all your life."

Above them in her room, Tenten jerked awake. It was the same time again. It was the same day, every month and every year. Most of what she heard was muffled apart from a few words like 'money', 'she' and 'truth'. Now here stranger was again. This time she could hear everything. She got dressed and headed down stairs.

Harry stopped talking "She's coming…I'll see you around…" He turned to leave to find her standing there, dark brown almost black hair, dark green and slate eyes and fair skin.

"Tou-san is that really you?" Tenten asked quietly.

"Hai, it's me." Harry responded looking at the floor.

"Why? Why did you leave me?"

"Hardest thing I have ever done. It is not because I don't love you. I love you more than anything but I made choices, not good ones. Now I need to pay for them. Should anyone find out about the connection between you and me, then your life could be in serious danger." Harry replied fighting back the tears and turning for the door.

"Are you ashamed of me? Because I'm alive and Kaa-chan isn't? Is that why you never stay?" Demanded the ten year old.

"Never, not ashamed of you, more because of me, I love you Tenten but I need to go…I can't say when I'll be back or if I will. But Tenten remember, I've told you already so I'll tell you again. I love you more than anything but this is something I need to do."

Tenten nodded her eyes welling up with tears. Harry turned for the door and for the first time since he staged his death at seventeen he hesitated. He turned to his softly crying daughter who he saw was born in March the next year and he hugged her.

He held his hand out and concentrated a camera emerged and with another wave of his hands the two had a short moment captured by camera. "Tenten, here…something to remember me by. Be strong my beautiful heaven, may your aim never falter."

Tenten looked at the pictures and smiled "Be safe father and may you always find your mark."

As she watched her father leave Tenten smiled. Now she knew who her father was, now she knew why she didn't miss.

"I love you otou-san."
