I got this idea from listening to "Yellow Flicker Beat" by Lorde.
Those of you that are waiting for my next update on "Impossible," don't worry. I'm not throwing it to the side. This one just came up quick and took me 40 minutes of my first period. I guess the most you will expect me updating would be at least by the end of this weekend, and if not, now till next week Friday. Sorry. :(
Disclaimer: I don't own either the song or the TMNT franchise.
Yellow Flicker Beat
April O'Neil looked outside her window, listening intently at the song playing on her ipod. Before long, her trained ears could no longer continue with the addicting beat and lyrics as her thoughts wandered on to a certain golden eyed mutant.
Ten years have passed since the first time she had met the guys. Ten years since she had met him. And it took ten years of crushes and heartbreaks with the wrong people to finally figure out that her heart's desire had always been him.
When she had first met her friends, she had thought they were freaks, but when her eyes trained onto the smoldering amber eyes she could not have thought at the very moment of anything else that could have looked so... beautiful.
But she had been sixteen at the time and a dumb teenager that was too stupid to not take notice of the fire that always coursed through her body in delightful, icy-hot shivers that were only brought forth by him. Be it if he was there or not.
Now at twenty-six she was actually able to decipher her feelings for the grown warrior. A warrior whose golden orbs were like sun discs of fire dunked in the flames of passion. A warrior whose voice was deeper than crashing waves on the sea shore. A warrior cloaked in shadows and secrecy. A warrior cloaked in ragged, yet beautiful scars of silver and gold. A warrior with the heart and soul of a king.
And she his queen.
Never mind if he was a mutant. She was one too. And it was already too late to stop her feelings for this young mutated turtle.
There was just so much that she had learned about him over the years that still felt so little as compared to now.
The sun was setting behind the large buildings that made up New York, the last of the light engulfing the evening sky in red, orange, and yellow heated fire. Like his eyes in the morning.
She smiled and turned to her bed, laying down on her side with her elbow proped on her bed and resting her head on her shoulder. The silky strap that held her short nightgown slid over the smooth marble skin of her shoulder. Her face stayed trained on the window as the last of the light faded into his domain.
The dark figure caused her blood to beat loudly in her ears as it neared her window and opened it in silence with the skills of a true master. The suggestive thump followed him in. He closed in on the opposite side of their bed, ridding his body of the protective elbow and knee pads, the dirty wraps, the belt holding his signature weapon, and lastly the red mask that hid the emerald green skin surrounding his face.
Raphael climbed on to his side of the bed, the mattress creaking under his weight. The look in his eyes excited her body far on to its limits until it was tested this night like every other when they were here.
The smirk on his lips sent shivers down her spine in ruby red fire. His eyes of liquid gold were the last thing she saw as they were engulfed in each others body in a tangled mess of sweat, moans, and names, paying no mind to the rest of the music.
And this is the
red, orange, yellow flicker beat
sparking up my heart
Has any one else noticed the references I used from the song in the story? ;) With a bit of Beth Crowley's "Warrior." (Which is absolutely AMAZING!)
Review and tell me what'cha think of this piece.
