"I heard Boden chewed your head off for insubordination the other day." Casey stated as he and Kelly walked towards the waiting room of the hospital.
"Yeah, I rather not relive it." Kelly responded.
"For what it's worth, I get it. Racing in to burning buildings is one thing, but being stuck outside when someone you love is at risk...hell, there is no training that can made that any easier."
"Casey, I told you. I'm not in the moo.."
"Yeah, I know what you told me. That feeling, that connection. It won't go away just 'cause you don't want it to be there." Casey told Kelly before he made his way over to his wife.
Kelly remained still at the entrance of the waiting room. He stood there looking over to Stella, trying to decide what do to. As much as he hated to admit it, Casey was probably right. So, he decided to do what he was going to do just before Boden chewed his head off.
He made his way over to Stella and held his hand out to her.
"Follow me" He told her.
She looked at him questionably, but didn't say anything. She just placed her hand in his and followed him as he guided her out of the waiting room.
As soon as he found a quiet place, he wrapped his arms around her.
"Thank god you are okay" he whispered in to her ear.
She just melted into his arms and put her head on his chest.
"Thank you for getting me."
He remained silent for a while, trying to contain his emotions. Holding her in his arms made this whole situation feel so much better.
"You still want to go to Milwaukee?" He asked her.
She chuckled at his sudden outburst. He slightly pulled away to look at her.
"I just need to be away from this for a while." He continued in a serious tone.
"Yeah, I'd like that."
