They Took him

I don't own the TMNT, if I did…I wouldn't have student loans.

I heard a loud crash and started coming of my room; when I heard Splinter's voice raise at Raph. Followed by another large crash, judging from the sound of it I'd say he pushed over the weight stand again. I hovered just out of sight of the dojo trying to figure out what was going on. For once both Raph and Splinter's voices were too soft to really make out what they were saying.

I came around the corner to listen better and caught the end of Raph saying something about "the better son." I knew Splinter could probably see me but he would be concentrating on Raph.

I could hear Splinter telling Raph about all his good qualities; a few of which we haven't seen since Leo left. I moved closer ready to lighten the mood with a joke if need be.

It was then that I noticed two familiar objects tucked into Raph's belt a second before Raph pulled them out. Fear started to fill me, and I could tell by the way Raph handled them, they were important, and by the look in Splinter's eyes as he recognized the sword hilts, as Raph placed them on the ground in front of him. I heard him say the words, "They took him."

I felt my heart stop; hoping until that moment that what I feared was wrong, and that something else happened. I instinctively moved forward to see if it were really true, that those two broken weapons, weapons that Leo loved so much, were really his. The fear I felt the fear of having lost my big brother right after having him back in my life again was replace quickly with determination to get him back.

"Leonardo?" Splinter asked fearfully.

"Yeah," Raph confirmed.

Splinter closed his eyes, trying to drown out the pain and anger. "Then the time for hiding is over. We must return to the surface to take back what is ours."

I could see Raph rise up a bit, hope filling him like it filled me. "By your wish, Father."

Splinter walked up to Raph and placed his hand on his shoulder before moving out into the corridor, to me. "Michelangelo, get Donatello and call Ms. 'O'Neil and Mr. Jones."

"Right," I answered running off to do his wishes.

Once everyone arrived and was told what had happened, I was looking for the page that Don had asked for and when I found it I set it on the table and asked Don (who'd been made leader in Leo's absence), "Well what do we do now?"

Raph stepped forward taking charge and answered, "I'll tell you what we're gonna do. We're gonna rescue our brother, and then we're gonna save New York City." He suddenly reminded me of Leo; and I knew in that instant, that everything would be alright. When Raph told us something like that, I knew that's what was going to happen; his "fierce sense of loyalty" wouldn't let him do otherwise.

While re-seeing the scene where Raph is telling Splinter what happens, I really took notice of Mikey standing around in the background, and I had to write a little piece about it…Then while I let it play through again, I noticed Mikey and Don both and books in their hands, and had to toss that in too. Hope you all enjoyed it and thanks for reading!
