The rain tapped and trickled down the UA dorm windows. Though everyone was asleep, Midoriya Izuku was not. He knows the hour of night, yet he's captivated by his writings, studying his Hero Journal, mumbling to himself and making edits. Luckily it was Friday night, so the consequences weren't going to be too harsh in the morning.
The rolling thunder and faint flashes of lightning soothed Midoriya, reminding him that the world was awake with him. He put aside his journal onto his nightstand and looked up at the white washed ceiling, thinking. Improvements, flaws, techniques, all ran wild in his head.
A low buzz from his phone startled him out of his immense thought.
(Ochaco Uraraka, 1:21am): Hey, Deku-kun.. I know it's suuper late, but I can't sleep and I'm really bored honestly, haha!Suddenly, Midoriya's face became warm and his hands became shaky. He picked up his phone and began typing.
(Midoriya Izuku, 1:21am): I've been up, too. Maybe we can meet in the common area?He waited for a reply, hoping he didn't sound needy, or too much like Mineta. "Maybe I came on too strong," he thought. He set his phone back down and looked up at the ceiling once again.
(Ochaco Uraraka, 1:23am): Sure, just give me a minute, I look a mess!Midoriya's mind raced as his face turned a glowing red. He slipped out of bed and onto the carpet. "What would need before I head down," he whispered to himself. He grabbed his phone, jacket and a small blanket just in case. He had a feeling he'd be down for a while. He slipped his socks on and headed down.
The hallway was dark and longer than it would be in the daytime. He walked down to the elevator and waited a moment before the loud ding of the bell echoed through the halls." Hopefully no one is awake," he thought. He stepped into the elevator and went down.
Once the elevator opened, he saw Ochaco sitting on the couch, greeting him with a smile. He gave a sheepish smile back and a shy wave.
He sat down on the opposite end of the couch, clenching his shorts and staring at the floor. "Oh, gosh. This seemed like a good idea at the time. Maybe it was because of the lack of sleep? Or maybe I'm becoming Mineta! Oh, anthing but that," Midoriya frantically thought. "Deku," Ochaco whispered. He glanced up, his emerald eyes meeting her hazel. "Are you alright?" she asked. He felt his face turn red. "Y-yea! I'm okay, just surprised you said yes to meeting here at almost one-thirty in the morning," he joked.
"Well, honestly my room was getting a little boring, and I figured you'd be awake," she whispered. Ochaco sat curled in the corner of the couch, her face just as red as Midoriya's. They both laughed quietly and filled the silence.
"Well, is there anything you'd like to talk about?" Midoriya asked. She shrugged her shoulders and shook her head. Silence soon swept over the room.
Midoryia sat and looked at his feet once again, not knowing what to do.
"Actually, there is," Ochaco started, fidgeting with the hem of her tank top. "I've been meaning to ask you something for a while."
"P-please, go ahead," he said, giving her his full attention. He sat himself up with his legs crossed in the couch, facing Uraraka.
"Oh, okay, um, well first, this seemed way easier in my head," she chuckled. "But, Deku, do you, maybe have feelings for anyone right now?"
"Huh?! She asked that with ease!" Izuku thought."Ah, well, um," he trailed off. "I'm not certain, so please don't take this as a definitive answer, but I guess I have feelings for you."
He realized what he said, soon his heart pounded and face flustered.
"I-I mean..!" he stuttered. He covered his face with his blanket.
"Deku," she whispered, putting ger hand on his shoulders. "I feel the same way.
