AN: my first Kaledio Star fic! I'm only at episode 20 or so, but already I'm intrigued by Sora's seemingly fluent command of English. Also, inspired by chapter 17 or so when Ken proposes the Japanese words for 'dream' and 'hope' when they're searching for a name for the show 'Freedom'.

Sora's English was surprisingly good, even when she first arrived to audition for Kaleido Stage. She still carried an English-Japanese dictionary with her at all times, but she was no longer the bumbling gaijin, as she called it.

But every once in a while, she lapsed back into Japanese.

She apologized with gomen-nasai and thanked someone with arigatou and came in late for rehearsal with sumimasen; she said itadakimasu before meals and ohayou in the mornings and oyasumi before bed.

Finally Ken snapped, and stole her dictionary. The next morning at breakfast, he replied to her "Morning," with "Ohayou, Sora."

End note: I seem to be incapable of writing anything full-length anymore. It might be because I've been writing 100-word drabbles for over a year now, and they just keep on coming. I love the challenge of fitting a lot into exactly 100 words, it's almost addictive -dopey grin-

Sumimasen – excuse me, forgive me
Itadakimasu – thank you for the food, kind of like 'bon appetite'
