Here's a oneshot featuring Wolverine and Cat... again. This has no connection to my other stories Never and Forever. I just love Wolverine and wrote this a while ago. It was a short clip I wrote when I was working on those other two. At the time I couldn't come up with another female character to pair with Logan. I hope you enjoy. R&R please and thank you! I'm off to try to work on some of fanfics... Maybe. I'm still working on my mansion built from all these writer's blocks. :( Anyways, on with the show. :)

Cat stood in line and tried to ignore the feeling that she was being watched. The mall was crowded and little kids were playing in the kidzone on the one edge of the food court. Cat had spent the past two hours looking for the right dress to wear to her friend's wedding. After feeling that she was being watched she finally decided that it was time for lunch. She needed a break from shopping even though she had yet to find what she was looking for. Her best friend, Ororo, was getting married in two weeks and even though she wasn't asked to be a part of the wedding party, she was still excited. Although, not being in the wedding probably made her a little but more excited about the big day. Ororo had wanted to set Cat up with one of the other teachers at the school she taught at but Cat had refused.

He's a nice guy, Cat. A gentleman; someone whom I really think you'd like. His name's Warren… Come on, Cat, please?" Ororo had begged over the phone one day.

"Ororo, no." Cat had almost given in but thoughts of someone else popped into her mind. "No, you know my type of guy… 'gentleman' doesn't usually describe him."

"That's why I think you need to change a little. Cat, it's been what, three years since what's he face? You don't even know his real name…"

"Look, I'm sorry, Ororo, but I'm not going to be set up on a blind date for your wedding. Please, for my sanity, drop the subject."

"Fine, as long as you agree to at least meet Warren." Ororo persisted.

"Alright, I'll meet the guy, but I make no promises." Cat had hung up after that. Ororo was right though… The one guy that kept creeping into her thoughts was someone she'd only briefly met about three years ago. She didn't even know his real name; he had given her a name that he went by when he was on "business" assignments, has he had called them.

After paying for the food, Cat decided to find a table in the busiest area of the food court… she still couldn't shake the feeling that someone was watching her. As she sat down to eat she noticed that she had a text message from her brother.

"Hey, Marie, wanted t' know if you've had any luck with the dress shoppin'?" –Remy

"None yet." She texted back.

"U might want to hurry up… we leave in a few days." –Marie

"I know. I'm at the mall now. I feel like I'm bein' watched. It's creepy… almost as if someone's found out."

"Do u want us to meet u there?" –Marie

"No, I'll be fine. I'm eatin' lunch now. I'll probably leave after I'm done. I may stop back by one of the stores. There was a dress that I liked and it was on sale."

"Just be careful and text when you get home so we know where you're at. We should be home around 5:30." –Remy

"Will do; see you guys later." Cat got up and threw her trash away before heading back to the first store she went into. She found the dress she had tried on and bought it. As she headed to the parking lot, she sensed that something wasn't right. She scanned the area around her bike and decided that she might need some help. She called her brother.

"Remy, how fast can you get to the mall?"

"Five minutes. Why?" He sounded worried; the conversation they had still fresh in his mind.

"Make it quick, food court entrance. Hurry!" She hung up the phone as shots rained in on her. She managed to get out of firing range quick enough that she wasn't hit. "That was close." She said aloud to herself.

"I'll say." That voice… Cat knew the voice that had come from behind her. "You okay?"

"I'm fine, but it looks like I'll have to buy a new dress for my friend's wedding." Cat looked at the Swiss cheese-like bag in her hand. "At least it was on sale."

"That's a good thing, I guess." The man was now standing beside her and she confirmed what she suspected earlier… it was the man she'd met three years ago.

"Cat?" Cat, you okay?" Remy came rushing through the doors.

"Yeah, physically I'm fine… maybe we should head to that school earlier than planned. Something's not right." Cat looked at her brother.

"I'll say somet'ing's not right. Yo' did just get shot at, no?" He pulled her into a hug.

"It's more than that, Remy." She pulled back. "Something didn't smell right. Someone or something has found out about us… at least found out about me. We've got to get out of here and fast. Call Marie and let's go… let's get out of the city tonight." Remy had never seen his sister this scared before… Cat didn't scare easily and it was clear that she was terrified.

"Alright, we'll head to the school tonight. She'll be surprised to see us so early but alright. But first, let's get out of here before they come back." Remy grabbed his sister by the elbow and guided her to her bike. After that he got into his car and called his fiancé.

Logan had seen the woman in the food court and followed her. She'd been on high alert and he couldn't help but feel the need to watch her and protect if need be. That need almost came when she'd been shot at in the parking lot. As soon as she reentered the mall he could tell that she was shaken.

"That was close."

"I'll say." Logan couldn't stop himself from responding but he had to see if she was alright. He breathed relief when someone, who looked a lot like her (except for the eyes), showed up. Apparently, they were heading to some school… a school where they knew that they would find help and security. It was those scenes that played through his mind as he made his way home.

"Logan's back!" Kitty said as she saw his bike pull into the drive.

"It seems so. He's back early though, isn't he, Professor?" Jean remarked.

"Yes, something's happened to cause him to return early." The Professor replied. "We will also be having guests. Two friends of yours, Ororo, and someone we haven't seen in a while."

"Who, Professor?" Scott couldn't think of anyone who had left the institute and not come back.

"You'll find out soon enough; they will arrive later today."

"Welcome back, Logan. I take it that the mission went smoothly enough?" Jean asked as Logan walked into the office.

"As smoothly as possible for a mission like that… especially when they put up a fight." Logan told them what happened and what had caused him to return earlier than originally planned.

"They're here." The Professor said as he sensed the three visitors approaching the gate. The group moved from the office to out in front of the doors as a mustang and a pick-up truck pulled up.

"Remy! Cat!" Ororo ran up to them as soon as they stepped out of the vehicles. "What are you guys doing here?"

"Hey, Ororo." Cat was tired, they'd driven straight through and she's been on edge ever since the mall.

"Marie?" Logan looked at the woman standing beside the man he'd seen at the mall. Marie was the only one he knew with white streaks in her hair. There was one difference though… she wasn't wearing gloves.

"Hi, Logan." Marie looked at the man who had saved her years ago. After taking the cure and things not working out with Bobby, she'd left the school. After a few months in Louisiana, the cure had worn off… that's when she met Remy and his sister, Catarina. Remy had taught her how to control her powers and over the years their friendship had grown into something more. They were now engaged with the wedding planned for the winter. Cat had taught Marie how to fly (an uncontrolled touch had given Marie the permanent ability to fly). Cat and Marie had become sisters and were very close.

"Rogue?" Bobby had come outside with a few of his friends. They were on their way to the side yard when he spotted his ex-girlfriend.

"Hello, Bobby." Marie tightened her grip on Remy.

"Careful, Chere, Remy likes the feeling in his hand." Remy looked at Marie and kissed her.

"Storm, we need your help." Cat spoke up, causing Logan to look at her instead of at Marie. Feeling that someone was watching her, Cat looked at Logan. It was the guy from the mall but it was also the guy she'd met three years ago.

"Let's go inside." The Professor's words cut through Cat's thoughts. She was still trying to grasp the fact that the man who had occupied her thoughts and dreams was in the same place as she was right now.

"Cat, you coming?" Ororo practically pulled Cat inside.

"Now, what's going on?" The Professor asked as they crowded into his office.

"I was attacked the other day. I was at the mall looking for a dress. I was heading to my bike when I felt that something wasn't right. All of a sudden, bullets were flying at me… they weren't…"

"How do you know they were meant for you?" Scott interrupted.

"A few reasons. One, I was the only one at that spot at that exact moment and two they weren't normal bullets… they were adamantium." Cat replied. "Those are the only bullets that can do enough damage to me… as long as they hit the right spots and there's enough of them."

"Again, they could have been after Logan… he was at that mall that day." Scott stated.

"Yes, but I wasn't outside when it started raining bullets." Logan retorted, still watching Cat.

"Cat, do you think someone's found out… I mean do you think that's why…?"

"Marie, what else could it mean? If that is what's happened… I shouldn't have dragged you all into this. People are going to get hurt… people are going to die and it's going to be my fault. Again." Cat collapsed onto the couch and hung her head.

"Don't talk like that, Cat. Yo' couldn't control what happened." Remy tried to comfort his sister but she pushed him away.

"I knew what I was doin'! I knew what would happen! I knew who I was fightin'! I knew that innocent lives would be lost but I didn't stop… they died because of me, because I had to drag the battle into that village." Cat broke… the guilt she felt for causing the death and destruction of that village was too much.

"YOU!" Suddenly, Colossus was busting through the office door. He grabbed Cat by the throat and pinned her against the wall. "You are the reason that my home was destroyed!"

"Let her go!" Remy pulled out some playing cards.

"Gambit, don't. He's right. If it wasn't for me, that village would still be there; those people wouldn't have died. If I had let Omega Red kill me, then none of that would have happened. Let Colossus do what he wants to me… this guilt has been too much to bear." Cat wasn't going to fight.

"Piotr, let her go. She's the reason I'm alive." A young woman stood in the doorway. She looked like Piotr only she was blonde. "Brother, I'm alive because of that woman."

"Illyana?" Colossus turned around, still holding Cat.

"Yes, it's me. You only saw what you wanted to see… both of you. Piotr, you only saw a woman bringing a monster into the village and then the village being destroyed. Thundercat, you only saw people and homes being destroyed because of you. We saw the loss of life and loss of our homes as a small sacrifice. A sacrifice that had to be made in order to stop Omega Red." Piotr dropped Cat onto the floor and stared at his sister. "Omega Red had to be stopped."

"But he wasn't. He was slowed down, but not stopped. Those people died in vain. I wasn't strong enough to stop him and now he's back." Cat said in a hoarse voice. "He's back and he's after me."

"Then let us stand with you. Let us help you and together we can stop him." Storm helped Cat to her feet.

"No, I won't let anyone else die because of me. Omega Red can do whatever he wants to me as long as that means no one else dies."

"Cat, don't talk like that. We're not going to sit by and watch Omega Red do whatever to you. I won't stand by and watch my sister die. Cat, you will be my Maid of Honor, you can't get out of it this easy."

"Mon ami, yo' right, but yo' ain't gonna be the only one protectin' Catarina… she is my sister too, no? Gambit will not lose yo' again, Cat!"

"I appreciate this, but… you have a lot more to live for than I do. My life died when I got these…" Cat extracted her claws. "There's no point waistin' anymore loves because of me... I won't let it happen. Remy, Marie, I love you both and I know that your lives will go on without me. This is the way it has to be. I'm sorry." Cat bolted out of the office and then out of the mansion. Everybody just stood there in shock, not really knowing what to do. Suddenly, Logan was out to door and following Cat's scent.

"Why did you follow me?" Cat spun to face Logan who had caught up with her.

"Because I know how you feel about being skin over metal. You can have a life here, Cat. We could use someone like you on the X-Men team."

"What about you, Wolverine? Could you use someone like me? Do you want me here?"

"Cat…" He closed the space between them. "I'm sorry I didn't keep in contact like I said I would. I meant to but it just never seemed like the right time. I never stopped thinking about you and about that night…"

"Logan, about that night…" Cat stepped back, unsure of how he'd react to what she needed to say. "There's something I need to tell you… something I should've told you three years ago, but when you never called me back…" She was in tears. She wasn't sure he'd want her after this news. "Logan, that night… that one time… I…" Cat froze; something wasn't right.

"Cat, you need to get back to the mansion… it's about your daughter." The Professor said telepathically.

"Lex…" Cat flew back to the mansion with Logan driving under her. They followed the road back to the mansion. Cat busted through the doors into the foyer. "Where is she?" Logan came rushing behind her; completely confused as to what was going on. "Where's my daughter?"

"Cat, calm down. Breathe, Cat." Remy come out from the office.

"Gambit, where is she?" Cat was frantic. "Oh. My. God. No! He has her, doesn't he? Don't hide it from me, brother!"

"Yes, Cat, Omega Red had Alexa. We'll find her; we'll get her back, I promise." Cat collapsed into Remy. Sobs racked through her body.

"She's your daughter too, Logan." The Professor came out of his office.

"What?" Logan stood frozen, starring at Cat. "That's what you were trying to tell me in the woods? That that night you got pregnant?" Cat only nodded; sobs still causing her to shake. "Cat, can we go somewhere and talk, please?" Logan was confused; he had so many emotions running through him that he wasn't sure if he wanted to yell, growl, fight, or cry.

"S-sure." Cat said, trying to control the sobs.

"You may use my office." The Professor offered and Cat and Logan went into the office. Logan shut the door. Cat sat on the couch and Logan leaned against the bookcase. Cat took out her phone and turned it on.

"She looks like you. She has your eyes… I guess, it was fitting that I named her 'Alexa Logan'. I didn't know you actual name but I felt that I had to name the baby 'Logan'. When I learned that she was a she, 'Logan' became the middle name. Here." Cat handed the phone to Logan; hands shaking.

"This is her?" Logan looked at the two year old starring back at him. Cat was right, she had his eyes but she also looked so much like her mother.

"I feared something like this might happen. I don't know what I didn't bring her with us… What if I never…" Cat broke down again; the thought of losing Alexa was too much.

"Cat, we'll find her. I'm sorry. I should have returned your calls. I never stopped thinking about you. In one night, I felt more at home with you than I had in my whole life. Cat, babe, when we find our baby girl, I want to try and be a family. I hope you'll agree to at least try?" Logan sat on the couch beside her. He took her shaking hands in his steady ones.

"If we find her… Logan, I never stopped thinking about you either and, even though we never spoke or saw each other again, I still… this is probably going to sound strange, but in just one night… in the beautiful face of my only connection to you, I fell in… this is harder than I thought." Cat stood up and walked to the window.

"Cat, take your time. You don't have to do this all at once." Logan stood behind her and turned her around.

"I love you, Logan. I'm in love with you. What are we going to do?" Cat wrapped her arms around his waist and laid her head on his chest; sobs beginning to take control again.

"We'll find Alexa, Love, and when we do we will be a family. Does she know about me or is she too young to really understand?"

"She sleeps with a T-shirt of yours. You left it behind; I was going to put it away in case I ever saw you again but then I found out I was pregnant… Your scent was one of the few, the very few, that wouldn't make me sick. They always talk about heightened senses when you're pregnant… it's ten times worse when you already have heightened senses. Just ask Remy and Marie." Cat laughed a little at the memory of those first few months of pregnancy.

"So what about your brother and Ro—Marie?" Logan had been curious ever since they showed up at the mansion.

"She and I worked at the same restaurant when first moved to New Orleans. We became friends and then one day Remy walked in. He rarely ate there, but after meeting Marie that day… he was there practically every day. After her landlord realized who she was, he kicked her out. Mutants still don't really have rights in New Orleans. The owner of the restaurant was a mutant. Most everybody liked her but then a lot of the customers didn't know who she was. You probably know her… she knew Marie as soon as she walked through the door. Raven. I guess you'd know her more as Mystique." Cat felt a growl vibrate through Logan's chest. "She's changed. After the cure wore off…"

"Wait, the cure wore off?" Logan pulled away from Cat so he could look her in the eyes.

"Yeah, you haven't heard? The cure is starting to wear off—at least on some mutants. Mystique, Marie, Eric… those are the three I know of." Logan pulled back even more.

"Eric? You mean Magneto?" Logan was tense and Cat was a little frightened by the look in his eyes. She backed up as far as she could, which caused her to hit the window. That sound snapped Logan out of his thoughts and focus on the frightened look in Cat's eyes. "Magneto is dangerous. How do you know him?"

"He was a friend of Raven's. He'd come into the restaurant at least once every time he was in town. Marie always stiffened when he came—and, yes, I know why—but he never bothered her. I know what he can do; I know firsthand what he can do. He's also one of the ones who helped deliver Alexa. It was made very clear that I could not have a normal delivery, no human doctor or nurse could be present just in case. I'm not sure what would have happened had Magneto not been there. He didn't actually deliver Alexa, but he coached Marie and Remy… though, my brother almost passed out." Cat was still against the window but slowly began to walk toward Logan after she realized that wasn't furious anymore.

"Enough about Magneto and Mystique… the cure wore off Rogue?"

"Yes." Cat was now standing in front of Logan with her hands on his hips.

"Then how can she touch Remy without gloves and without hurting him?" Logan took hold of Cat's hands.

"She's learned to control her powers. She can use them when she wants to and not use them when she doesn't. Remy helped her learn that control. They started as friends and then by the time Marie had mastered control they were dating… they were in love. It took two years for her to master control and right before Alexa was born they got engaged. I think they're still planning the wedding for this winter." Cat turned around and watched out the window as it started to rain. She placed a hand on the window as more tears flowed down her cheeks.

"We will find our daughter, Cat. We will be a family. I promise you. We will find her. Cat, I love you." Logan turned her around, pushed her back against the window, looked briefly into her liquid-filled eyes, and kissed her. Her fingers twisted through is hair as his pressed her against the window. They stayed like that a few minutes until someone cleared their throat.

"Excuse me, I'm looking for the Professor." Logan turned his head to look—rather, glare—at the blonde man standing in the doorway.

"Did you try the War Room, Warren?" At the sound of the name, Cat turned her head to look at the man. At the sight of him, she had to roll her eyes and suppress a laugh. His eyes locked on hers and it made her feel very uncomfortable, so much so that she shuddered and had to look away. The shudder caused Logan to look at her and then back at Warren and he noticed the deep stare. "Why don't you try the War Room?" Logan growled. He moved his attention back to Cat. She was looking at him with so much passion, longing, and love that Logan forgot about Warren still standing in the doorway and began kissing her again.

"Yeah, I'll try that. Wolverine, have you seen Storm? She sent me a text saying that the friend she wanted me to meet is…"

"Currently making out with Logan?" Storm came up behind Warren. She cleared her throat a couple of times.

"What now?" Logan was irritated. Cat looked at Warren and Storm before laughing. Logan looked at Cat, confusion obvious on his face. "What's so funny?"

"The fact that Storm thinks I'd ever be interested in Warren. Clean cut, wholesome… Don't get me wrong, Warren, I'm sure you're a nice guy but no one could compete with the one and only man who holds my heart."

"Cat, please don't tell me that the guy from three years ago; the guy who you slept with; the guys who…"

"The man who is the father of my child; the man who, even though I only saw him that one time three years ago, has been the only man who has loved me for who I am…"

"Loved you? That guy left you alone and pregnant… never to contact you…"

"Watch it, Storm." Logan was getting angry. No one talked about him that way and no one what talk to or about his woman that way.

"Shut it, Logan! You didn't hear the pain in her voice when she called me and told me that she was pregnant. You didn't see the joy mixed with sorrow in her eyes as she held her baby." Storm would have continued but when she looked at Cat, she stopped. The look in her eyes told Storm that she's overstepped again.

"Logan, wait!" Cat called after him but he'd already bolted from the room.

"I see that you're taste leans more towards the bad boy type who doesn't like to stick around." Warren said. Cat glared at him; she'd forgotten he was even standing there.

"Logan is more of a man than you'll ever dream of being!" Cat looked over at Storm. "Thanks, Ororo. As if he doesn't feel bad enough already, you had to bring it all back up. If I lose him again… this time it's all on you."

"Wait. Logan is…" Storm looked at Cat.

"Alexa's dad? The man I'm in love with? Yes, to all of the above." Cat shifted her weight.

"Cat, why didn't you tell me?" Storm took a step forward.

"What I said that I didn't know he name you assumed that I didn't know him at all… you never asked about him. You told me to forget about him. I'm so glad that I didn't listen to you." Cat's icy glare stopped Storm from coming any closer. "I'm going to find him."

"I don't think so, Catarina." At the sound of his voice, Cat froze. Chills ran up her spine as she turned around and faced Omega Red. She'd been so caught up in the conversation, she hadn't had her senses alert to anything else.

"Where's my daughter?" After her initial fear, anger coursed through her.

"So she is yours. Good, I hoped I had grabbed the right child." Omega Red's tentacles wrapped, seductively around Cat. "Come with me and you'll see her. She does look so much like her mother." He pulled her closer to him.

"I think she looks more like her father. Get your hands off me!" Cat tried to push out of his grasp but couldn't.

"Let her go!" Warren and Storm were ready for a fight. The temperature in the room was dropping drastically. Omega Red was growing weak.

"Where is my daughter?" Cat pinned him against the wall.

"You will never see her again." He hissed. He knew he was losing.

"I will find her and this time you will be stopped. Mark my words, Omega Red, you messed with the wrong mutant." Cat tightened her grip on his throat.

"Cat, go find her. We'll take care of this." Scott's voice came from behind.

"Where is my daughter?" Cat's patience was wearing thin. The glint in his eye told her that he wasn't going to speak. "I will find her." She said through clenched teeth as her claws slowly inched closer to his neck.

"Cat, go. We will stop him. Storm, keep the cold." Scott said, placing a hand on Cat's shoulder.

"Cat, I know where your daughter is." The Professor had heard the commotion and immediately searched for Alexa.

"Where's Logan?" Cat asked as she made her way to meet the Professor.

"I don't know. He's angry and upset." Marie was right beside her. "He bolted through the front door."

"He grabbed a bike and headed North." Remy was on Cat's other side.

"Where is she, Professor?" Cat asked as she approached him.

"Here, at this daycare. He just dropped her off on their front step." The Professor pointed to the location on the map sitting in front of him. Cat was out the door before he said anything else. Cat jumped into her car and took off south toward the daycare the Professor had pointed out.

"Hi, I'm here to pick up my daughter." Cat said as soon as she walking in the door.

"Mommy!" A two year old came running over to Cat. Cat bent down and scooped up her daughter.

"She's yours? She was just left on the step this morning." The lady said as she noted the resemblance between mother and daughter.

"Someone took her from me. Please, don't ask." Cat said as she balanced Alexa on her hip.

"Hey, I'm just glad she has a family." The lady waved to both Cat and Alexa as they headed out the door.

"You didn't hear the pain in her voice when she called me and told me she was pregnant. You didn't seen the joy mixed with sorrow as in her eyes as she held her baby." Storm's words echoed through Logan's mind. No matter how fast he drove, he couldn't escape them. She was right… he hadn't been there for Cat when she needed him the most. He slammed on the breaks as soon as he sensed something wasn't right. Ever since he and Cat hooked up, he'd felt a connection to her and now he knew that he could sense when she was in trouble. He turned the bike around and headed back to the mansion. He saw Cat sitting on the front steps holding a two year old in her arms.

Cat sensed Logan even before he arrived at the gate. She'd been standing inside with Remy, Marie, Storm, and Alexa but when she sensed Logan, she took Alexa out front.

"Cat, I'm sorry I bolted like that. I was…" Logan stopped midsentence and midstride as he noticed the little girl sitting on Cat's lap. "Is that…?"

"Yes. Alexa, I'd like you to meet your…"

"Daddy." Alexa finished her mom's sentence.

"That's right, Sweetie. How did you know who he is?" Cat looked at Logan and then down at Alexa.

"Smell. Shirt." Alexa has advanced in almost everything. She observes almost everything; the things she says no longer shocks Cat but she'd never once told her that the T-shirt she sleeps with belonged to her father.

"How? You know, I'm not even surprised anymore." Cat kissed the top of Alexa's head. Logan came over and sat down next to Cat. As soon as he did, Alexa crawled onto his lap. Cat watched as the regret in Logan's eyes melted as he watched his daughter. Alexa yawned and snuggled into Logan's chest. "She's had a long, scary few days." She whispered as she brushed Alexa's hair off her forehead.

"Why the tears?" Logan lifter Cat's chin so she had to look at him; a tear streaked down her cheek.

"A couple of reasons I guess."

"Okay. Are you going to tell me or should I imagine the worst?"

"I'm so happy I have my daughter back. Omega Red has been stopped. You're here." More tears filled her eyes as she took on the sight she'd been longing to see for two years. "I never knew I could fall even more in love with you." She placed a hand on his cheek.

"Hey, guys…" Storm approached the family slowly. Cat went to pick up Alexa, but Logan stopped her.

"I haven't held my daughter and right now I need her, otherwise I may do something I'll regret." The fire in his eyes made Storm step back.

"Logan, I'm sorry I said those things. I didn't mean them the way they came out. I didn't know how Cat felt and I just assumed that the guy was never coming back. I had no idea…"

"You never mentioned the name I gave you?" Cat flinched at the tone of his voice. At that, Logan regretted using it.

"She tried. I didn't want to hear it. I thought I could fix her up with Warren or Piotr or someone like that."

"But not someone like me? I wouldn't be the kind of man she'd be interested in?"

"You're exactly her type. I was trying to get her to see a different type of guy. I was running out of options. She turned down everyone I suggested. None of them were you." Storm stood cautiously next to Cat.

"It's a good thing she turned down Piotr, though; he nearly strangled her earlier." Logan smirked… though even then, he'd wanted to kill Colossus.

"Wait, Colossus is… right, Illyana mentioned that. I guess I forgot." Cat laughed a little. She rested her head on Logan's shoulder as the day's events went through her thoughts. A lot had happened in just a few hours.

"I can see now that I should have suggested Logan first."

"Though, I should have realized who the guy was when she told me the name he used. I guess I'd tried so hard to forget my past that I blocked out everything." Marie came out of the mansion.

"I should have tried harder to track yo' down." Remy was standing behind Marie.

"Let's not focus on the 'should haves' and 'what ifs'. The important thing now is that we're together. Alexa has her dad and I have the only man I could ever love." Cat looked at Logan and baby in his arms. Her gaze then scanned the sky as the sun began to set.
