For Forever Siriusly Sirius's Taylor Swift 'Red' Challenge.

Padma knew that Ron was trouble when she first saw him in his awful dress robes. She wasn't one to judge by appearance but his robes were so bad that even she had a problem with them. The fact that he could wear them out in public and not look more than mildly unhappy was unbelievable.

Padma knew that Ron was trouble when he looked angry about Hermione Granger coming to the ball with Viktor Krum. Wasn't Hermione his friend? Shouldn't he be happy that she was happy? If he was going to be upset about he going with someone else then he should have asked her sooner. It was his own fault for waiting so long.

Padma knew that Ron was trouble when he didn't ask her to dance when the music started playing. Everyone else was out on the floor dancing and laughing and having a good time while she watched feeling very alone. Ron made no move to ask her and he didn't seem to notice how upset it made her.

Padma knew that Ron was trouble when he didn't talk to her even once. It was bad enough that he wouldn't ask her to dance, but the fact that he wouldn't speak to her made it ten times worse. He could have at least said a word or two to fill the empty silence that surrounded their table.

Padma knew that Ron was trouble when she asked him if he was going to ask her to dance and he said no. He didn't say maybe later. Or even, "I can't dance." He just gave her a straight out no without so much as looking her way. He didn't apologize or act the least bit sorry. It was just no.

Padma knew that Ron was trouble when he didn't seem upset about her dancing with another boy. He could have at least acted a little mad about his date leaving him. If he was perfectly fine with being alone then why had he bothered getting a date at all? Padma would have had a much better night if she hadn't had to go with Ron.

Padma knew that Ron was trouble when he spent the whole night sitting off to the side looking miserable. He didn't try to do anything about his miserableness. He acted like he had been forced to come and sit around watching everyone else enjoy themselves. He didn't attempt to have a good time. Maybe he didn't want to. Maybe he liked being miserable.

Padma knew that Ron was trouble when he made Hermione cry. They were supposed to be friends and friends weren't supposed to make each other cry. Padma thought she knew why Ron was mad. He had wanted to go with Hermione but he had realized it too late and missed his chance. It was his fault and he was using his anger to ruin Hermione's evening.

As Hermione sat crying Padma wondered if she knew that Ron was trouble, too. From her tears and her lonely expression Padma thought she did.

But she, like Padma, should have known earlier. She should have know that Ron didn't care. That he ruined everything. That he would ruin anything she wanted. She should have known that Ron was trouble.
