Draco lay lazily on a green sofa in the common room, he glanced over at Vincent who seemed on edge, and then his eyes moved to Gregory who sat in a slump, sinking into the cozy green armchair. "Just to break the silence, I hear that one of you has been hanging out with that new girl." He watched Greg look over at him, scowling. "Oh not you Greg, but someone here has been seen with her."

"From what Pansy told me her parents were arrested and she was sent here to live with her aunt, her parents were messing around in some curses and got caught transfiguring muggles into rodents." Greg said as he watched Draco sit up and smile. "Pansy knows most…"

"She don't know anything." Vincent said quickly as he looked over at Greg, a scowl deepening on his face. "Blauvelt is ok in my book."

"I didn't know you knew what a book was, but that doesn't concern me, go on Greg." Draco said as he sat on the edge of the sofa.

"Pansy knows most of the story about her, she was telling me that Blauvelt's parents treated muggle torture like a favorite game on family night. Well, they are locked away now and that…" Greg was nearly whispering, his eyes locked on Draco who had never seemed so interested in anything else he had ever said, but he was cut off once again.

"I said shut it about that girl, I don't want to hear another word." Vincent said as he stood up. "Who cares what her mum and dad did, I'm sure my mum and dad has done worse."

"They might have, but did they didn't bloody well allow you to help them." Draco's voice was cold as he stood up and put a hand in his pants pocket. "If I didn't know any better I'd say you have a crush on her, is that why you vanish every evening?"

Vincent didn't speak, he was bigger and stronger physically than Draco was, but knew his skill with spells was no match.

Greg looked over his shoulder and smiled. "Blauvelt, you're right on time to save your boyfriend."

Blauvelt stopped in her tracks, she was a thin girl with reddish brown hair and green eyes, and she stood barely five and a half feet tall, nothing about her looked menacing. "I'm on time for what?" Her voice was soft, nearly soothing as she spoke.

"To save your boyfriend." Draco said as he turned to face the girl. "How is it that you're in your sixth year and you don't understand common English."

"I have no time for your stupid games, Mr. Crabbe, escort me to the Great Hall for dinner." Blauvelt said with the hints of a smile starting in the corners of her mouth.

"Yeah, sure thing Mairead." Vincent said quickly, he walked quickly to her and offered his arm.

Draco watched them leave, then turned to Greg. "Did you see how she walks in here and ordered him to leave, perhaps she needs to learn who the boss is around here."

Greg stood watching the hallway, waiting for Vincent to come back.

"Come on Greg, Vince is gone, but we will find out exactly what is going on." Draco growled as he sulked up to the Great Hall and he found Vince sitting next to Mairead, piling her plate with food. "That is disgusting."

Greg could only grunt in reply as he walked over and sat across from Vince. "So you're going to be her wet nurse and you see nothing wrong with that?"

"I'm not a wet nurse." Vince said as he looked at Mairead's hand that was now on his forearm.

"That is more than enough food for me." Mairead said softly, she turned her focus to Draco and Greg. "He isn't a wet nurse, he just so happens to excel in one of my favorite hobbies."

"Torture is the only thing he'll ever be good at, he's a fat worthless lump." Pansy said as she leaned forward, putting her mouth by Mairead's ear. "You're throwing yourself away if you're chasing after Crabbe, he takes no interest in emotions and desires so have fun."

"Come sit with me." Draco said with a smile, his cold gray eyes stuck on Pansy.

Mairead rolled her eyes as she looked over at Vince, his muddy brown eyes a little pushed in and his chubby cheeks and mouth twisted into a strange looking grin, she giggled as she exhaled deeply. "We should go to the library after we eat."

Draco saw a flash of fear in Vince's eyes, he looked at Pansy to see if she might have noticed, since Greg was already distracted by the food on his plate. He barely touched anything, his mind now turning over what Mairead could possibly have done to make Vincent Crabbe, of all Slytherin students, scared.

Vince grabbed a handful of cookies to take with him to the library, but they were gone within moments of leaving the Great Hall, he walked at Mairead's side, her gentle hand holding the bend of his arm. "Uh… May, if I can call you that… could you… maybe try… or uh…"

Mairead stopped and looked up at Vince. "If you wish to call me May, that is fine, but dear, you must stop all that sputtering and spit it out."

Vince took a deep breath, his cheeks turning red, his mind turning over what he would say, but seeing those green eyes set on him, almost as if they could see everything he tried to hide. "Can your eyes see through my clothes?" He blurted out before he realized it wasn't what he wanted to ask.

May threw her head back laughing, she took his arm and pulled it close, laughing heartily as she continued to the library. "Oh no my dear, oh no they cannot."

"Good." Vince said, his red face deepening at the embarrassment of her laughing. "Can I ask you something else?" He didn't wait for May's permission, he stopped, grabbed her shoulders and almost felt as if he'd be sick. "Be my boyfriend… no, girlfriend, please."

May was now silent, her cheeks were red and it made her look around to see who might be watching. "I've never had one, I wouldn't know what to do with one…" She could see the let down behind his eyes. "However, I am open to new experiences, how is your skill with the cruciatus curse?"

Vince smiled brightly as he let her shoulders go, he offered his arm again and walked towards the library. "I'm above average."

May chuckled at his answer, she guided him to a table near the back and sat down. "I enjoy sitting in here with you, I enjoy it nearly as much as transfiguring muggles into rodents and releasing a hungry alley cat into the room."

Draco left Greg in the dorm and took Pansy with him. "We will find out what exactly is going on."

"I'm telling you I know what's going on, I have plenty of contacts that see them." Pansy hissed as she grabbed the back of Draco's school robe. "They sit in there, she does most of the talking and he eats it up like a puppy."

Draco gave Pansy a repulsed glare. "Do they… oh never mind that."

"Kiss?" Pansy asked with a snicker. "I've been told Vincent has leaned in for one, but he's never gotten one yet."

"Shut your mouth Pansy, I'm going to vomit." Draco hissed as he walked nearly silently into the library with Pansy following at his heels.

"I'm telling you, it's really dull, they sit at a table away from everyone and May reads aloud to him. He nods and then she continues and he stares at her like a hungry dog and she keeps right on teasing him." Pansy was whispering away, paying no mind to Draco. "She keeps him hungry for her attention, she teases him, barely allowing him to get a word in, and then he will try to lean over… why did you stop?"

"Female…" Draco hissed as he turned around and made the motion of choking someone. "Shut it, good grief Pansy, we are trying to spy."

Pansy rolled her eyes as she leaned back and crossed her arms and looked at the wall, a sassy expression seemingly stuck on her face.

Draco sighed heavily as he stood staring at her, he couldn't believe she was ignoring him. "Pansy, I didn't quite mean it like that, but we need to both be very quiet."

"Fine." Pansy hissed with her nose turned up.

Vince sat holding May's hands, smiling at her, he didn't know what to say, but seeing the pink in her cheeks and the quiet giggles was good enough for him. "May, can I tell anyone you're my girlfriend?"

"I don't mind, but if they have any nasty remarks I'll curse them ten ways from Sunday and I'll…" May started, but Vince's thick, rough finger pressed against her lips, she had never thought herself to be one interested in anything except torture and muggle extermination.

"I hope you aren't angry with me, but I've been telling my parents about you, they like you." Vince said as he smiled dreamily at May. "My dad serves the Dark Lord and he's really proud of me for meeting you, but when he sees you… he'll say that you're a Malfoy's woman."

May leaned forward on the table, studying every feature of Vince's chubby face, his little turned up nose was her favorite feature, and it nearly struck her as cute. "I feel girly and mushy and nearly bubbly sitting here like this."

Vince could only nod, he wasn't listening to what she was saying, his finger continuing to linger on her lower lip, he thought about kissing her, perhaps he would try again and she would notice.

May stood up suddenly and walked around the table to sit next to Vince, she took his hand and put it on her neck, just under her jaw. "I think I like having a boyfriend, it's like taking a break from everything else."

Vince leaned closer to her, his face nearing hers, it seemed almost too easy as his lips touched her soft pink lips.
