Peter knocked on Gwen's window twice looking at her back illuminated by the feeble light next to her.
Gwen was at her desk trying to end the biology project in time.
Hearing that sound made her suddenly shaking, it could be only Peter.
It surprised her how happy she was knowing he was there for her, she was even a little worried, how could she be so… emotionally attached –that's exactly what came to her mind- to him? It was too soon and anyway she never felt anything like that before.
She had a boyfriend the year before, Ryan, and in 4 months they were together she never felt anything like the connection and the chemistry that she had with Peter.
She had to control herself not to run to open the window jumping here and there like a kid on Christmas and it took all her strength not to faint when he walked in her room looking at her with an intensity that she actually felt on her skin like burning fire that made her feel for the first time the most important girl in the whole world.
He couldn't help smiling looking at her.
He couldn't believe he was in the Gwen Stacy's room, he couldn't believe that existed a girl like her, a girl that could look like the most beautiful woman… what was he saying? The most beautiful human being in the universe even with a two size bigger t-shirt and a pair of shorts.
"Hi" he said.
"Hi, I thought you had one of your aunt-nephew night" she answered.
"Well I think aunt May can spend a night alone and anyway tomorrow I'll bring her cupcakes for breakfast "
"Oh then I'm sure she won't notice your absence…you're really evil Peter Parker, corrupting people with cupcakes" she said trying to hold a laugh.
"I guess now that you saw my dark side you won't talk to me anymore" he said opening the window again.
She grabbed his hand and closed the window again.
"You're not going anywhere" he was still smiling but her face was dead serious.
"Okay, I mean if I have to…" he said with half a smile.
"No Peter" she said taking him on her bed "you're not going anywhere. You understand? Don't leave me, you can't leave me for any super monster or giant lizard or robot that can shoot red laser from its eyes, I want you to stay… I need you to stay" she was staring at him, eyes in eyes, still keeping her hand on his.
And then he fully got what she was saying, he always knew it but he didn't want to deal with it cause it broke him: under her strong mask she was really worried about him, she was the girlfriend of the town's hero, even if sometimes he just wanted to be Peter… he wasn't… or better he was Peter Parker but he was also Spiderman, the guy who fights the bad guys and then come to his girlfriend who heals him every damn time and has to see him suffer and can't do anything but doing her "don't you get I was scared to death and now I'm so mad at you, idiot" face with the corner of her mouth contract and the gelid look on her face.
She was scared he'd die like her dad did just to protect the city.
He grabbed her face, running his thumb across her cheek.
"I'm not going anywhere, I promise. I met the most amazing girl ever, she's smart and funny, she's selfless and kind and she's the most beautiful girl I've ever saw and I swear I wouldn't do anything that could keep me away from her, believe me, I've tried but I just need her like I need air"
"She seems a nice girl" she said feeling the tears trying to come out.
"I think you'd like her" he said smiling and that little smile gave her shivers.
"Yeah?" she asked giggling.
"I love you Gwen Stacy and I can't picture my life with anybody else but you" he said stroking her hair.
There's not a word in the dictionary that could properly describe the feeling she felt in that moment but the only thing that came to her mind was…
"I was wrong" she whispered
"What?" he asked confused
"I said I was wrong. That's way more then a emotional connection or whatever… I love you Peter"
He smiled again and she kissed him grabbing his hair, touching his neck first and then going down, touching his chest, his arms, his back…
She wanted him more then anything else and for him was the same.
Her lips were so soft against his and her touch tasted like heaven.
He made her lay on her bed softly touching every single part of her.
Soon all their clothes fell on the floor and the only thing that existed in that moment was the two of them illuminated by the soft light on the desk.
His touch was so gentle on her, like she was a fragile treasure.
She felt so safe in his arms, shaking and burning all night, kissing him hungrily, feeling the happiest person ever, feeling beautiful and loved and wanted.
He kissed her lips, her jaw, her neck and then her chest, grazing her skin and massaging her legs while she was pulling their bodies even closer like she wanted them to melt and become one.
He touched her lips looking right in her bright eyes and then whispered in her ear with husky voice once again
"I love you Gwen"
"I love you too" she gasped.
And then they made love all night.
Yes, exactly , they made love because that night was more then just sex, it wasn't just about two bodies, it was two souls, it was the night they realized they'll spend the rest of their life together.
