Summary: Arthur did not like group work. He could tolerate working with others, but that definitely didn't mean he enjoyed it. Especially if one of his group mates keep bugging him about things that are completely off topic.
(A/N): Just a heads up, this is a random drabble. If you came for plot, there ain't none.
Disclaimer: I do not own Hetalia or any of its characters. They belong to Hidekaz Himaruya.
"So… Do you, like, have any friends?"
"Yeah…?" Arthur blinked at his groupmate. He hadn't expected Alfred to actually talk to him, let alone ask him such a question. They were supposed to be working on their slides.
"Really? Like who?"
Had Arthur not have stayed up late the previous night studying for a test, he would've shot a scathing remark at the American. "Alice."
"She doesn't count, though. Everybody knows she's gonna move soon."
Arthur regarded Alfred with unmasked irritation. What kind of logic was that? Besides, it wasn't as if Alice was dying, Arthur was going to keep in touch with her.
"Come on, anyone else that you talk to?"
"I don't particularly like anyone in my classes." Why did Alfred keep talking to him?
"No one?"
"I don't interact with them enough to form much of an opinion of them."
"So do you like me?" Alfred pressed on.
"I don't talk to you. I wouldn't know." God. At this rate, Arthur was going to have to work on the slides at home. Didn't his standoffish responses mean anything to the American? Alfred was either really bored or really dense. Possibly a combination of both.
"Haven't you ever liked anyone? Ya know, like, crushes?"
Arthur thought it over briefly. "No." He glanced at the clock. Damn, half an hour before the period ended. He let out an inaudible sigh. He just wanted to get his last period over with so he could go home and take a nap.
"Come on, Arthur, there's gotta be someone." Again, why was he talking to Arthur again?
"No one. I've never had a crush." Was never having a crush on anyone really that hard of a concept to grasp? Sure, Arthur may have found a couple people good looking, but that was it, really. Not any attraction was ever strong enough to develop into a crush.
"So… What? You're gay? Bi? Pan?" asked Alfred.
"I don't know." Why had Alfred asked him that?
"What do you mean, 'you don't know'? Ya gotta know!" How would he know his preference? He never dated anyone. He never even had a crush! Maybe he had a crush on someone and didn't realize it? Arthur honestly didn't know.
"Jones, volume," scolded the teacher with mild annoyance.
"Right, sorry!"
Thankfully, Alfred left Arthur alone for the rest of the period. He really didn't like group work.
end~
(A/N): This drabble is based off a conversation I had earlier today at school. I have more than one friend, I swear. Also, I don't have any clue how that conversation started either. I didn't insinuate it, they just started talking to me. Man, I do not work well in groups. Either arguments would break out every two seconds, or there'd be that one person that literally does nothing the entirely time. Then we gotta scramble around to try to finish everything before the deadline.
