Title: "King's 'New' Nickname?"

Summary: He had left an extra twenty minutes earlier than he usually did for morning practice. But even with those extra twenty minutes, his mind had not come up with one idea for a nickname.

Disclaimer: I do not own Haikyuu!, nor do I own any of its amazing (yet completely dorky) characters!

Hinata had been contemplating about the idea for sometime now. But it was a hard decision; it was a scary decision. Change had never scared him before, yet now the sheer thought made him shiver in fear. The idea terrified him right down to his core.

"A nickname for Kageyama," the redhead mumbled under his breath, leaning back as his bike rolled down a particularly steep hill. He had left an extra twenty minutes earlier than he usually did for morning practice. He needed thinking time, and biking had always cleared his mind.

But even with those extra twenty minutes, his mind had not come up with one idea for a nickname.

His eyebrows knitted together as he concentrated, trying to figure something out. It wasn't his idea to give Kageyama a nickname. It was Sugawara's.

"You two would be an even better duo if you connected more," his senpai had said absentmindedly after practice, a finger on his chin as he looked up in thought. Hinata, being the curious midget that he was, asked howhe was supposed to connect with Kageyama.

Sugawara had shrugged, grinning at the first year, "Why not try giving him a nickname?"

Hinata's initial thought: 'King'. 'He had always seen the raven-haired setter as one. He was proud and arrogant, the 'control tower' of the team. It was like he was sitting up on a thrown, keeping everything under control, a crown placed carefully on his head.

Or that was how it had been the first time the redhead saw him. Now, it was more like he was a Prince, waiting for the day that he would become the King. He was just as arrogant and proud, but he was easily angered and let his emotions control him ('Just like me,' he thought subconsciously). He was just learning to utilize his teammates, to draw out their true potential, too.

"A Prince learning to be a King," the short middle blocker chuckled, his small (but strong) hands clutching the bike's handles as he picked up speed. Turning a corner, his honey brown eyes landed on the school's building. Standing at the gate was the 'Prince' himself.

'Maybe that'll be his new nickname,' Hinata thought shortly, his tongue sticking out as he pedaled faster to lessen the distance between them. He stopped at the gate and was greeted with a "Dumbass Hinata, what took you so long?" and deep royal blue eyes narrowed into a glare.

'A grumpy Prince,' Hinata decided, yelling at Kageyama to shut up.

AN: KageHina Week, Day Two: Nicknames.

Here, have a crappy one-shot/drabble of Hinata trying to figure out a nickname for Kageyama. (Am I the only one who thinks of Kageyama as a prince instead of a king? Yes? Okay, then).

Anyway, yesterday I drew something, today I write something. Tomorrow, I don't know what I'm going to do. (*Shrugs*) But I will do SOMETHING that is for sure.

Yeah, that's all I have to say. HAPPY SECOND-DAY-OF KAGEHINA WEEK, EVERYONE.
