Author's Note/Disclaimer: If I owned Jericho, it wouldn't be cancelled. I also wouldn't be on FanFiction… wait, no, I probably still would. ANYWAYS! Here's another random one!shot from me, because Science class is boring.

Waiting For Season Three

Jake Green sat in his house, staring at the two women before him. "Emily… or Heather?" He pondered out loud. "Who to choose… who to choose…"

Emily broke down first, throwing her arms into the air. "This is stupid!" She cried, beginning to pace. "You can't pick either of us without a Season Three!"

Heather just shrugged. "Whatever. I'm already on 24."

Emily glared. "Then pick me, Jake!"

"You just said I can't." He replied. "And I can't even ask Stanley about Season Three!" Jake added. "He's still in prison for killing that dude on Lie To Me!"

"Idiot…" Emily murmured.

"Hey!" Heather whined. "Stanley was cool! And Lie To Me's a good show! Darcy's been on it too!"

"Yeah." The blonde rolled her eyes. "And Valente."

"Well, crap."

The two women turned to stare at Jake. Shocked. "But he's gone!" Heather cried, ever the optimist. "We're safe now!"

"Safe, with no chance of a Season Three." The hero of the show sounded defeated. "Which means we're stuck here. With no movement in plotline. At all. Ever."

"Oh."

Meanwhile, Hawkins sat bleeding to death, just like he had since the show was cancelled. "Will someone please stop this bleeding?!" He yelled, annoyed. He had been moved to his house. This wasn't really a furthering of the plot; just a totally random scene change.

"Dad, we can't." Alison told him for the three thousandth time. "We need approval from the writers."

"There are no writers!"

Mimi was bored. Like, really, really bored. Stanley has disappeared. Jake had left to go play pick-a-girlfriend. And now Mimi was stuck here, staring at Bonnie's grave. She had finished mourning months before, but she really didn't have anything better to do. Plus, the tears would not stop running down her face. This was stupid.

It had been almost a year since the finale of Season Two. Since then, the characters had been able to do close to nothing. That is, until Jake came up with a radical idea. "We saved our town." He blurted. Emily stopped pacing.

"Uh-huh."

"We saved our country."

"That's… uh… yeah. That's great, Jake." Now she was looking at him like he was nuts. The expression grew in intensity as he stepped closer to her. Jake, on the other hand, was grinning.

In that moment, Mimi was able to stop crying. Hawkins stopped bleeding, and Alison was able to stitch him up. Because, in that one moment, Jake had had a radical idea. "We've done all that…" he said, "so what's to keep us from defying the writers?"

And with that, Jake and Emily kissed. It was odd.
