Author's note: Hello my lovely readers, it's been quite a while since I have written any OroxAnko so I decided why not? And the inspiration for this wonderful piece comes from the song 'So She Dance' by Josh Groban. Check it out.

So She Dances

With the spotlight fixed on her, Anko Mitarashi gracefully strolled onto the stage, curling into a ball in preparation of her saltation and blocking out the judgemental gaze of the large audience as she waited for the music to start; she wasn't there. In her mind, she was far away on the beach in the arms of the man she loved, performing the duet she now had to turn into a solo.

Unrolling from the ball, she started the dance, allowing the pure emotion from the song to guide and drive her lithe body, closing her eyes every now again to escape from the world. She could see his beautiful smile, hear his quiet chuckle that was reserved for her alone and feel his body as if he were still guiding her fluid movements. She imagined him whispering in her ear, congratulating her for her effort and precise footwork. The young woman never wanted to let this moment pass, but eventually the song ended and the crowd starting applauding.

With tears streaming from her eyes, Anko gave a curtsy and left the stage, hastily grabbing her coat and purse, not bothering to answer all the questions thrown her way as she burst through the exit into the cold night air. Her heart was torn and she wasn't ready to show any emotion after that dance, so instead she took a seat on the cold metal bench on the sidewalk, trying to reel in her feelings.

"Why are you crying, my flower? That was a marvellous performance." A voice, so familiar and dear to her, inquired from the shadows.

Gasping loudly, Anko stood up, running into the arms of the older man, burying her head in his chest as she allowed broken sobs to rack through her body. She took great comfort in the arm that wrapped around her waist and the hand that caressed her short hair.

"I thought you never wanted to see me again." Anko whispered in a hoarse voice, having calmed down.

"How could you possibly think such a thing, my dear Anko?" The man questioned, pulling away at arms' length.

"I am so sorry, Orochimaru, I didn't mean anything that I said." The young woman apologized, searching his golden eyes for any sign of hatred.

"All is forgiven. Shall we go?" Orochimaru asked, offering his arm.

"Yes. I love you." Anko replied, taking the offered arm, allowing him to lead the way.

"As do I." Orochimaru responded softly, placing a small kiss on the crown of her head.
