Of Course Not
What was going through Liv's mind during that scene in Barba's office in Net Worth?
"We'll Rape is still illegal, right?" She asked with no shortage of snark in her voice as she was growing impatient with him.
"Liv" he said trying to remind he that he wasn't the enemy here.
She instantly felt her eyes roll, she hated it when he used that tone with her. It was the same tone he used with Noah when he wanted him to think about his behavior. She wasn't a child, she didn't need him to handle her. She wasn't ready to give in so she shot back with another ridiculous idea, this time he gave her snark back to her. She knew she was in danger of pushing too far so she crossed her arms leaning back against a shelf in his office and waited to see what he was going to suggest. .
She couldn't believe her ears as he was rambling that bullshit about the money helping their victim find closure. What the hell was he thinking? She moved back to his desk ready to battle.
"I don't believe that for one second." She paused for a second when she saw a look briefly cross his face. Damnit he was playing her. "And neither do you." She added giving him just the slightest smile indicating his move had been well played.
"Of course not, so let's go find another way to bury this prick," he said managing to avoid the smugness he would have shown earlier in their relationship, but proving he had learned how to get her to listen to him.
How had he done that? She tilted her head slightly not giving him the satisfaction of letting him see how completely turned on she was at that moment. This man clearly could read her like a book and there would be no living with him if he knew the thoughts she was having after he had played that game. She gave him a head nod as she turned to leave stopping by the door when she heard him speak.
"Hey Liv, don't worry I won't be late tonight." He teased no longer trying to hide his satisfaction with himself.
Liv just shook her head, it was something being in love with someone who knew you so well.
"Goodbye Rafael." She said purposely using his name in way that she usually only used at home. She smiled to herself as she heard him let out a slight groan before the door closed. He wasn't the only one who could play these kinds of games at work.
The End
