Darkness was falling as Aang sat on the beach, quietly pondering a few things. They managed to travel a great distance North before dark, so that was good. But with every mile they came closer to their first destination, the more he began to think that he wasn't cut out for this so of thing.
"I mean, I ran away the first time. If I mess up again, who knows if I'll get a second chance!" He though frustrated, standing up and throwing an empty sea shell as far as he could.
He looked back down on his hand noticing a small cut was bleeding, ever so slightly. "Stupid shell…" he slurred angrily, trying not to yell out. He bent over and without looking, grabbed anything that felt that it could be chucked a good distance and was just about ready to chuck it when he heard a loud squeal. "Momo!" Aang said in shock and released him a bit too quickly, letting him plop onto the sandy ground. The winged lemur held and tended to its tail.
"Sorry Momo." Aang was relieved that his little friend had accepted his apology almost, right away. He really didn't need the added weight of guilt to his already heavy burden. "You okay buddy?" Momo responded with a quick smile as he made his way to Aang's shoulder. Momo began murmuring to him whilst pointing at the cliff right behind them.
"Dinner's ready?"
He nodded his head. "Great!" Aang said happily, and took out his glider and flew up the cliff. Their camp was just on the outskirts of a forest. Before landing, though, Aang asked, "Hey Momo? Do you think that I'll actually complete my training and beat the fire nation?"
He nodded his head, but suddenly stopped and tugged on Aang's ear. "Aah! What was that about!"
Momo began squealing angrily at him. "Right, we will do this; you, me, Katara and Sokka." He corrected himself.
"Aang! Get you butt down here now or I'll eat your fish!" Sokka yelled up at him. He rolled his eyes, an amused look crossing his face and made a quick dive from the amber sky above to the ground below them.
"You, me, Katara and Sokka…" he thought happily to himself.
"Together."
