I own nothing

Relena x Heero : Wrapping

Relena looked glumly down at the misshapen presents. It was the first Christmas Eve she had had off in years and she'd decided to wrap her own presents instead of having some one wrap them for her, as she usually did.

An idea that had ended up being a bad one.

Picking up the gift for Dorothy, Relena tried to tuck one of the many awkward corners of wrapping paper closer to the box the gift was contained in with no success.

Putting it back on top of the other oddly shaped presents, Relena took a good hard look at her handiwork and in a fit of temper ripped the wrapping off all the gifts.

Done with that, she stormed out of the room letting the door slam shut behind her.

It was the proceeding bang that drew Heero from his own room.

His concern over her out of character actions was plain only to a few, but Relena could read it easily in his face and immediately felt guilty.

Turning to face him, Relena laced her hands together tightly in front of her as the irritation at her own lack of skill continued to boil through her.

"I'm sorry for disturbing you, Heero. I've just gotten overly wound up over an inability to do something simple."

His eyebrows lifting in a silent question, Heero crossed his arms and leaned against the wall by her door as he waited for an answer.

Flushing slightly in embarrassment, Relena twiddled her thumbs as she looked down at the floor and mumbled. "I can't wrap Christmas presents."

Not a glimmer of amusement crossed his face, instead standing upright he came over to her and grasping one of her hands in his own, stated. "I'm not good at it either but if you would like some help..."

Enjoying the warmth of his calloused hands on her own cold one, Relena gave him a small smile and teased. "Is that why your gifts are always either not wrapped at all or in gift bags?"

A small smirk lifted the corner of his mouth as he replied. "Yeah."

Outright laughing now, Relena felt the tension drain out of her as she stood there enjoying their banter.

"I would be delighted to have you help me wrap the presents, Heero." A sudden thought had her rushing to her bedroom door saying over her shoulder. "In just a moment, that is!"

Having tucked his presents away in her closet she invited him into her room and they got about the business of wrapping.

Motioning to one of the four piles she had made she said. "Those are for Quatre and Duo. Could you wrap those, please?"

Lifting a brow in at her choices for him, Heero merely grunted and got to work while she once again tried to get Dorothy's to look right.

As she lay out the shiny blue wrapping she was using, hoping her calculations were correct, Relena cast her eye over to Heero and for a moment could do nothing but stare in disbelief.

"Heero! You can't piece it together like that!" Laughter burbled up and out of Relena's throat as she looked at the gift he had just wrapped.

Looking down at it himself, Heero grunted and said. "It's just Duo's."

Staring at the box that was currently decked out in two different wrapping papers, Relena felt all her tension over not having the perfectly done drain out of her and letting out another helpless laugh, continued with her work not saying another word about Heero's 'unique' style of wrapping.

As could be expect the presents didn't look any better after the second go around but Relena couldn't find it in her to care.

Especially after the early gift of a searing good night kiss from Heero.

It made her quite determined to get that exact same gift next year and if terrible wrapping was the price she had to pay, so be it.

Well, 'tis the season, right?
