So, this is my first fanfic. Crazy right? Credit most definitely is due to Shin(BonesBird, check her out guys, if you already haven't). She really got me into Prody and she gave me this little brain nugget to have fun with so, thanks Shin!

To say the last month or so had been rough on Meredith Brody was an understatement. With the Moultrie incident being brought back fresh to her mind, her tense conversation with Pride and finally letting out about her twin sister Emily, she was thoroughly exhausted, mentally and physically. Even stranger still was the intimacy that had grown between herself and Pride. Now, after a particularly tough day and two bottles of wine later, she found herself cuddled on the couch in her house with Pride.

"Come on, tell me about your parents," Pride practically begged for nearly the tenth time tonight.

"Why are you so interested," Brody asked.

"Well, I've just now found out you had a sister, can you blame me for wanting to know more?"

"No, I can't, but there really isn't much to tell. I haven't really spoken to them in years. I haven't really felt the need to."

"Why?"

"Because, they were always so strict. Do your homework, Meredith. Stay in your dorm, Meredith. Stop taunting the bear, Meredith."

"Bear?"

"Yeah, it's a long story," Brody trailed off.

"We have all night," Pride said, placing a kiss on the top of Brody's head.

Sitting up and looking him in the eyes, Meredith gave him the lightest kiss and nestled back into his chest.

"Fine, you win," Meredith started. "We had set up a tent in our backyard. Our parents were more than happy to get us out of the house for a night." Losing herself in telling the story, she thought back to that night. They were thrilled that their parents had let them set up the tent she and Emily had received back in the fall for their birthday. Finally, having a warm night and wanting nothing more than to spend it in their tent, they went and set it up as far away from the house as they could.

"Well that should have been your first clue, Merri," Pride said, pulling her out of her thoughts.

"Hey, don't interrupt!"

"Well come on, tell me the rest."

"There really isn't much more to it. We made some s'mores and played a couple of card games when we heard the growling. I peaked my head out of the tent and saw it and well, one thing led to another and my parents came out yelling at me to stop taunting the bear. In hindsight I probably shouldn't have been shoving a stick in its face," she trailed off.

"How old were you two?" Pride laughed.

"I'd rather not-"

"Come on, how old?" Pride said grabbing Merri and tickling her.

"Stop, stop we were fourteen!" she squealed.

"Fourteen and you had never been camping! You are from Michigan and you didn't go camping until you were fourteen?"

"Well, when your parents are a professor and a journalist, you typically spend more time reading than camping. We begged them for years for that tent. I guess they just finally gave in." Merri said, with a smile on her face.

"You really ought to call them. I'm sure they would like to hear from you."

"Yeah, I know. I will."

Merri, snuggled further into Pride's arms. He had managed to worm his way into her life and right now, she really was happy for it all.
