Waiting

Waiting…was something Riza Hawk-Eye was always good at, whether it was waiting patiently, or against her will…In the end however she was always waiting for one person, one man rather.

She still remembered the day that he had told her he was going to be a simple enlisted man. At first she simply presumed that he was joking, like he often did; but one look at his serious face told her otherwise.

She didn't try to stop him…but said that she wanted to come with him; he wouldn't listen to that at all…

'Your place is in central,' his words still rang through her head.

So that's how it went for two years; without him yet constantly thinking of him every moment of the day. And that's when she first began to wonder if her feelings for him went deeper than for just a superior or even more than friendship.

'Your place is with the military!' she scolded herself yet again.

She sighed briefly looking at her surroundings of the working people and then returned mindlessly to her paperwork. When suddenly the ground around her shook.

'An earthquake…in central?' she mused, it was a rarity in itself after all.

The news had sunk in quick that the exact same thing had happened in Lior, and at the exact same time. It was with out a doubt no coincidence. "Ahhh!" she heard a scream by the window and without a second thought rushed there. And there was a march, of people in armor. Her eyes widened, what was this? Another rebellion?

She shook her head having no more time to worry; she grabber her gun and ran outside. Everyone looked at her and followed suit.

'Bang, bang, bang'

Sounds of shooting filled up the entire area around headquarters. No amount of it seemed to help, the army marched on, "Are these things even human?" she questioned aloud, but no one seemed to hear. "Behind us!" someone yelled and everyone turned. More metal soldiers were climbing down the central building. All at once everyone began shooting at them.

'This is useless!' she thought nearly giving up hope.

The mental warriors burst into flames, and she immediately turned her head to the origin. Her jaw dropped, as she starred; his lips moved but she couldn't hear a single word, everyone around her however seemed to, and the obeyed leaving only her.

"It's good to have you back general," she said softly her eyes feeling strangely glassy. His lips moved in what seemed like a smile for a split second, but then returned to normal. "First Lieutenant Hawk-Eye; you're with me," He said in that voice she had missed so much…

A/N: Well I hope you all liked that, it seemed kind of awkward when I was writing it…so I don't now; please review!
