Karin was exhausted. And lost. She had been chased by Hollow all day. It was too strong for her soccer ball so she had to run away. When she finally got rid of it, she realized that she was lost. Completely lost.
She was still running. She tripped on a rock and fell on the ground. She scratched her knee. It hurt a lot but she didn't care. She was numb form everywhere.
It started to rain. She sat down because she didn't want to collapse. That's when she realized that she was on Karakura Bridge. She knew her way home but she couldn't move anymore.
She waited for someone to come get her. She waited. And waited. And waited again and again. She was listening for footsteps but the only thing she could hear were the raindrops splashing on the ground.
She thought about her family. Her mom, whom she misses a lot, her brother, who had disappeared without saying good bye. All those people she needed but who weren't there. Tears appeared in her eyes but she had sworn to never cry again so she fought them back. But she was too tired and tears began to roll down her cheeks. She cried herself to sleep.
When she woke up, she was in a stranger's arms. Normally, she would have jump out of his arms and kicked him in the shins but she didn't move. Strangely enough, she felt comfy in his arms. She didn't know who he was but she felt grateful. She knew it was silly but she had a feeling that he was going to take her home. They had walk for 10 minutes but she didn't to look at him.
She gathered her courage and finally decided to see who was holding her. Her vision was still blurry from the tears but she could see he had white hair. Wait, white hair? The only person she ever met who had white hair and who wasn't an old grandpa (even if he has the same age) was…
-Snowflake? She asked
- Can't you stop calling me by this stupid nickname already? He retorted. She chuckled.
They fell back into silence. She was so happy that her first and only crush had come back to the world of the Living but she wasn't a soul so why come and help her? She noticed her knee was healed.
-Toshiro?
-Yes?
-How did you find me? And why are you here? Don't you have work in the Soul Society?
-Well since the war is over, Soul society is in peace so we don't have a lot of work but Hollows keep coming to Karakura. Sotaicho decided to send a captain here and since I'm the one who know the city the best, I was send here.
-Oh okay. And to my first question?
He turned his head to hide his blush from her.
-Well, I was looking for you, he finally answered
Karin was shocked. Toshiro was looking for her? She hated herself for looking so weak and fragile in front of him.
-Why?
She saw him blushing. The ice prince can blush? You never have a camera when you need one. He turned his head back to her and smiled. She really needed that camera.
-I wanted to tell you something
-And what is it?
Now he was smiling and blushing. Where is that god damn camera? And since when does the ice prince show his emotions? She thought he was relay cute like that.
-Come on, tell me, tell me, tell me, tell me, she insisted
He was getting redder by the minute. Then he turned back to his normal shade. He took a deep breath and declared:
-I love you, Karin
He kissed her. She kissed him back. When they broke apart, she said:
-I love you too, Slowflake
