I do not own any characters, plots, or anything else pertaining to "The 100". After watching the last episode 6x05, I couldn't resist writing a fanfiction on what I'd like to see happen the rest of the season in regards to Bellarke and Clarke's body possession storyline. Each chapter will alternate between Bellamy and Clake's perspective. As always, thanks for reading and reviewing.
Knowing a Heart
Chapter 1
A Different World
Clarke's eyes open into the dimness. The last thing she remembers was lying on the table paralyzed and Russell with his wife, threatening to take her life. They had wanted their daughter to come back and take over her body, her life. Clarke's heart drops, as her eyes take in the room. It's one that she hasn't seen in quite a few years, technically almost 130 years, but she's happy to be back. She wonders if she's in some sort of coma. Everything is how it was when she had left the ship. As her eyes take in every detail of her childhood home, the front door slides open. Her heart stops, when her father walks in. He looks over at her with a smile. "There's my girl." He walks across the room and Clarke can't stop the tears that are starting to fall down her cheeks. Her father hugs her, and she snuggles into the crook of his neck.
Clark has missed her father since Jaha had him floated. When she had been growing up, they had spent a lot of time together, while her mother was working at the infirmary. They had watched old movies from Earth and her father had read to her about an Earth long forgotten. Clarke had dreamed that she'd someday travel to that Earth and experience life there. Her father had told her that science would find a way to make Earth inhabitable again and they'd find themselves living in that same world she had watched and read about in books.
As her father pulls back, he gives her a slight frown. "What are you doing here so early, Clarke?" She looks at him in confusion for a few moments and then it comes to her. "Am I, dead?" He gives her a nod. "Yes and no, you're on the verge of dying. We call it the in-between here." Her heart stops at his words. How could she have let this happen? "Is there a way for me to get back?" She watches as her father's frown deepens. "Yes, but I'm afraid, it's not going to be easy." Clarke frowns at him in return. "What do you mean?" He holds out his hand, like he used to when she was a little girl, and leads her over to the living area couch. Her eyes hesitantly meet her father's. "In order to return to your body, you have to find a way to restore your soul. Whether that is through action or through someone else that knows your soul wholly." Clarke can't help the image of Bellamy appearing in her mind. When she thinks of a person that knows her wholly, who she is and who she strives to be, only his name comes to mind.
There has never been anyone else that could understand her quite like Bellamy. It's the reason why she had felt so lost without him after Praimfya. Clarke was suddenly left with her own thoughts and a misery that she wasn't sure she was going to survive. She knew that Bellamy would understand what she was feeling and how she was thinking. He'd be the person that would know what to do to help her because he had known her completely. The truth was, without him, she found herself lost for a while. Clarke didn't know how to make things better and nearly shot herself as a result. She had lost her purpose and lost her way.
She is pulled from her thoughts by her father's laughter. Clarke looks over at him in surprise. "Don't worry, Clarke, I know exactly who holds the key to your soul." Her heart stops at her father's words. "I've been watching you during your time on Earth and I know how much you care about Bellamy Blake." Clarke's breath catches and she's not sure how to respond. She's never actually expressed her true feelings for Bellamy because she's been too afraid. "Clarke." Her eyes meet her father's again after a moment. "I know you love him and that he loves you the same." She sits frozen not able to move an inch of her body. He loves her. Clarke thought that was true at one time, but now things have changed between them. "He's with someone else." There's a silence that falls between them for a few moments before her father grabs her hand in his.
Clarke remembers that he used to do that as a way to calm her nerves and make her feel safe from the monsters she thought were living under her bed. "You and Bellamy share something far more important than you do with anyone else. Your souls are bound together, for better or for worse." Clarke can't quite comprehend what she's hearing. She's always known that they share something unique, something special, but she had no idea that their souls were bound together. The realization only makes her heart ache because she's not with him now. "He is the only person that can restore your soul to your body and dispel the spirit that has taken it over." Clarke takes another moment to ponder this. The thought that Bellamy still harbors those feelings for her, despite how much she's let him down recently, makes her pulse accelerate.
She looks up to lock eyes with her father, a little spark of hope rising up inside of her. "How?" He gives her a smirk. "You have to fight against Josephine to get to him. He can bring you out of this, if you get through to him." Clarke nods her head uncertainly. "How can I do that?" He quickly stands up from his seat. "You'll have to figure that out on your own. Listen to your heart, Clarke." With that, her father suddenly disappears, and everything goes black again.
