Dissatisfied with the quality of the songs that were created by the few Harry Potter fan bands out there, I was inspired to compose a few of my own.

Disclaimer: Harry Potter and everything within its universe is property of J.K. Rowling, not me.

Dear Dementor:

a love song

-

Won't you kiss me?

Hold me close.

Pull me in or I'll become

more insubstantial than a ghost.

Though your lips are cold

and your breath is blighting,

I still want you to hold me tight;

my greatest fear is that you'll leave me

all alone…

-

My dear Dementor,

I'd gladly give my soul to you.

I don't care if you're not human,

all I ask is that you love me too.

So let my spirit fill

your hollow heart,

and ever more we'll never be apart.

My Dear Dementor,

Please tell me you love me too.

-

When I first saw you,

time stood still.

And I felt a flood of warmth under

your overriding chill.

They all say you're dark,

but I disagree;

because I knew you were the one for me.

And when I gazed inside

the empty sockets of your eyes,

I saw you hungered for me just as I

for you…

-

My dear Dementor,

I'd gladly give my soul to you.

I don't care if you're a monster,

all I ask is that you love me too.

So let me take

your lifeless hand

and I'll help you better understand,

My Dear Dementor,

just how much that I love you.

-

I would give my life

to keep you here.

It is not fear that's causing me

to swoon and sway.

Just wrap me tight inside

your tattered cloak,

and forever let me stay that way.

Lulled by the quiet deathly rattle of

your breath…

-

My dear Dementor,

I'll gladly give my soul to you.

I don't care if you consume me,

all I ask is that you love me too.

My life may end but our love will have just begun

And ever more our two existences shall be as one.

Oh dear Dementor….

My dear Dementor,

kiss me now and soon be done!

When I first began to brainstorm ideas for a Harry Potter themed song, the idea of a song about a love confession to a Dementor popped into my head. Call me strange, but the idea was too perfect to pass up, and my muse would not let me rest until it was finished. I had a lot of fun composing this.

This song is still a work in progress, so any suggestions or improvements would be considered with an open mind.

Reviews are very much appreciated!
