I thought of this a while ago and decided to put it up. I hope people enjoy!

Eaglewing awoke and stretched her jaws in a wide yawn. It would be dawn soon but at the moment most of the clan was still sleeping. She turned her head to gaze at the slumbering deputy, Stormheart. The grey tom's flanks rose gently as he slept.

Go on! Wake him up and tell him how you feel as you planned!

No matter how hard she tried she couldn't make herself move. What is he said no? The thought was too terrible to bear.

Just then he stirred. She quickly averted her gaze so he wouldn't know she'd been staring at him like a creep.

"Eaglewing?" he murmured blearily. "Are you awake?"

"Yes, Stormheart," she mewed, forcing the words out of her mouth. "Do you want me do go on patrol?"

"Actually, no," Stormheart shuffled his paws. "I've got something for you to do, but no one else can hear."

"Okay." She mewed. Her longing was overtaken with curiosity. What was it?

They passed the thorn barrier easily. The three new warriors Nightwhisker, Hawkeye and Suntail watched them as they went deeper into the forest.

Eaglewing and Stormheart travelled far until they were far away from the camp.

Tell him now! She told herself, but she was too nervous. It can wait. She lied.

"Eaglewing, I'm sorry." He apologized.

"Sorry? What for?" she asked.

"I lied. I don't have something important for you to do, but I didn't lie about no one else being able to hear."

"What is it?"

"I, uh," his mew trailed off.

"You what?" she mewed impatiently.

"I, I've, well," he took a deep breath and straightened up. "I've been in love with you for a very long time. I love you, Eaglewing."

While her body froze her heart starting beating faster than it ever had before. She opened her mouth to speak but no sound came out.

"It's alright if you don't feel the same," he mewed quietly. "I understand." He got to paws and began to leave.

"Wait." She mewed hoarsely. He stopped and turned to face her.

"I love you too, Stormheart. I have always loved you." She rested her muzzle against his cheek.

They entwined their tails. "I'm so glad," he mewed. "Can we be together now, please?"

"Of course," she replied. "It's what I've always dreamed."

They sat side by side and watched the sun rise into the sky. It's warm rays woke the forest. The small rustling of animals could be heard among the bright leaves.

She licked her new mate's ear before slipping into a hunter's crouch. She stalked a mouse then leaped, killing it with a quick neck bite.

"Nice catch," he purred. "But let's go back to camp now. I need to make the patrols."

They walked back to camp together. Many cats had woken up by that time and were milling around camp. They were eating, sharing tongues or basking in the sunlight.

A black tom opened his eyes as they padded in together.

"And just where have you been, Stormheart?" he hissed. "What if ShadowClan have invaded because you failed to send out the patrols?"

"That's enough, Blackpelt," mewed Sootstar. "I am also curious as to where Stormheart has been but for now he needs to make the patrols." He turned to Stormheart. "Once you're finished meet me in my den." He strode away.

"What happened?"

Eaglewing jumped when she heard Frostfur's mew. Her friend was suddenly next to her.

She smiled gently. She felt warm from her ears to paws. "Everything happened."

She looked up at the sunny sky. I love you, Stormheart. She thought. And I always will.
