Ryoma Echizen was walking home all by himself on a Christmas Eve. The pathway was covered with a thin layer of snow. It had been snowing since school ended.
Sakuno said that she had something to do and told him to go without her, Ryoma recalled.
He felt that something was missing without Sakuno beside him, blushing and stuttering.
He tried to keep his hands warm by putting them in his pocket.
The weather sure is cold out here, he thought.
Today was Ryoma's birthday. He got millions of present by his fan club, which he threw away.
He only kept the present from the Seigaku Regulars and Ryuzaki sensei.
It was quite unusual for Sakuno not to give Ryoma a gift, as she had a HUGE crush on him.
When he reached his house, he noticed that his parents and cousin had gone out.
Christmas shopping, he thought as he went to his room. Looks like they forgotten my birthday.
He switched on the lights and found something on his table.
A letter was placed neatly on top of his stack of books.
The letter said:
Close your eyes. Turn around.
Puzzled, he did what he was told to.
He felt a pair of soft lips on his. Still, he kept his eyes shut.
When the kiss was over, he heard the door closing.
He opened his eyes and smiled.
Secretly, he enjoyed the brief kiss.
Mada mada dane, Sakuno. And thank you for this wonderful gift.

Outside the window
Snap! Snap!
"Oishi, higher! I wanna get good picture of Ochibi's first kiss!" said Eiji, with a camera in his hands.
"I'm trying!"
"Try harder!"
"What are you doing here, Oishi-senpai, Eiji-senpai?" a familiar voice startled the duo.
They both turned around to find a short boy staring at them.
"Um… Echizen… Funny meeting you here…" Oishi stuttered as Eiji jumped down his shoulders.
"Ochibi, don't be ashmed nya," Eiji said as he landed down on the ground.
"Ashamed of what?"
"This." Eiji showed Ryoma the pictures he took just now.
"…." Ryoma was out of words this time.
No one noticed that Ryoma was blushing.
