Summary: The similarities between dark chocolate and "The Dark Captain".
This is what happens when its a *really* slow night at work and I indulge
in two of my favorite passions: eating Hershey's Special Dark miniatures,
and thinking of Crais. Thank you valleyforge for all your help!
Disclaimer: I don't own Farscape, Henson does, I'm not makin' money from this, yada, yada, yada.
Two Dark Passions...
One: a simple dark confection. The other: the enigmatic "Dark Captain". Both are sensual and sweet addictions, and hold the possibility of great pleasure for *all* the senses. Why do I desire them?
For their look: They are sleek, dark, and beautiful - tempting me.
For their scent: They entice, arouse and intoxicate, awakening my hunger for them with glorious anticipation.
For their sound: The chocolate yields only a cold quiet snap as it breaks; that sound holding the promise of sweetness yet to come. The Captain's voice, though harsh at times, is deep, sultry, and as smooth as velvet, liquefying far more than chocolate.
For their taste: The chocolate, like a fine wine, is smooth, dry, and full- bodied, with just a touch of sweetness and spice. The man, like the chocolate and the wine, has the same complexity, with the added taste of leather and sweat. The flavors of both are an intriguing sensation.
And for their feel: Both have a hard exterior, as they have only ever been exposed to cold. Inside they are hard as well, and sometimes brittle. And yet, the chocolate softens when exposed to warmth. In my mouth it slowly melts with the gentle caress of my tongue. Would he? Would his hard exterior and equally hard heart ever soften with such warmth? And would he ever melt to my gentle caress?
