Eulogy for a Fallen Soul: a Ranma fanfiction

Alas, the idea is not original, although the story is. The idea was given to me long ago, when I read a similar fic, only it wasn't ever finished as far as I know. If anyone knows more, please let me know.

Takes place One Year after Jusendo and the Bombed Wedding

In a small cemetery, in fact the same one that housed Mrs. Tendo, a group of people were gathered for the funeral of a man many people hated, despised, or wished to kill.

As he looked out at the large crowd gathered for his father's funeral, Ranma Saotome was struck by a few things. The first was that there were rather a lot of people he had never seen before. The second was that they all seemed to be genuinely sad at his passing, which was quite contrary to the scenes of celebration and joy he had imagined.

As his gaze moved from one grief-stricken face to another, Ranma catalogued the newcomers for later thought. One, standing next to his mother and talking softly, was a handsome older woman of about sixty, with her arm around an older gentleman of about seventy. Standing next to them was an African woman, about the same age as his mother, and unlike almost everyone else, she didn't seem sad. She stood, back straight, almost at a position of attention, and her face showed only an expression of pride. Next to her was an elderly African woman, who appeared to be her mother, and a young woman of about twenty who was obviously her daughter. A little to the side stood a small group of men and women who appeared to be Vietnamese, and towering over them all was quite possibly the largest woman he had ever seen. 'Man, I bet she's bigger than the Dojo Destroyer…' His thoughts were cut short by the American priest who was officiating the funeral.

"If we could all take our seats?"

As he made his way over to his family, he saw Nabiki staring, open-mouthed, at a group of three businessmen making their way over to Nodoka. Slightly surprised, and a little worried, he moved next to her and asked, "Hey 'Biki? Who are those guys? Friends of yours?"

Turning to him, her mouth moved soundlessly for a few seconds, before she faintly responded, " Ranma, that's the Prime Minister of England, the Secretary of Defense of the United States, and the head of the International Red Cross…"

Stunned, he looked at her for a moment, then wrenched his head around to stare at the three innocuous-seeming men in shock as they greeted his mother and she swept all three up in a crushing hug.

A/N: Well, I couldn't think of anything to give Genma for a hidden talent, but while I was thinking about it, it occurred to me to ask "Why did Genma seal the Umisenken and Yamasenken?" This is my answer, in series form. If you have any questions, comments, insults, or suggestions, feel free to review. Ja ne
