"Welcome misfits to Villainy 101; I am your instructor Professor Ludwig. Today I am going to teach you why good has always overcome evil and how to change that for the future by..." the professor flipped the chalkboard over revealing the lecture notes. "Talking about the rookie mistakes past villains have made. Let's start with..." Mr. Ludwig spun around and slapped the chalkboard with his pointer. "Maleficent."

The pupils grinned excitedly.

"Maleficent was considered a powerful villain who let her rage control her. She could have had great potential. Who can tell me what mistake she made that led to her death?" The Professor faced the students.

Silence filled the room.

Mr. Ludwig scrapped his untrimmed nails along the chalkboard. "NO ONE?!" He scanned the room. "What curse did she put on the princess?"

One student raised his hand.

"Don't raise your hand! This isn't a class on etiquette."

The student rose from his chair, "Before the sun sets on her sixteenth birthday, she shall prick her finger on the spindle of a spinning wheel and die," the student recited.

"Yes, but you missed what she said before that. Does anyone know?" inquired Mr. Ludwig.

"Do not only focus on the curse itself but the entire speech if you want to learn from her mistakes! Maleficent spoke these exact words: 'the princess shall indeed grow in grace and beauty; beloved by all who know her...' Now which one of you misfits can tell me her mistake?"

A woman stood to her feet, "by saying she would beloved by all who knew her, Maleficent opened the opportunity for true loves kiss to break the curse."

"Very good."

"And since she met the prince who fell in love with her at first sight before she turned sixteen, his love could awaken her," continued the student.

"And why is that? Maleficent never agreed to there being a way to break her curse."

"Because true loves kiss overcomes any curse or spell; it's like the hero's secret weapon."

"Brilliant! So, pupils, how could Maleficent avoided this?"

Another student stood.

"By just stating the curse and not adding the whole lame intro about being loved by all who meet her."

"Exactly."
