This is my first Harry Potter story, but I hope you enjoy it :)

Rose Weasley watched them walk down the corridor, hand in hand. The wrenching at her heart was almost too much to bear.

"Hey Rosie!"

Albus Potter, her raven-haired cousin, bounded down the halls and skidded to a halt next to her. Following her line of sight, he frowned.

"Why are you staring at Malfoy?"

Rose just shook her head.

"No reason. Just wondering what he sees in Olivia." Rose almost spat out Olivia Browning's name. She hated the girl: fussy, bossy, selfish, bitchy... She could go on and on.

"Well... She is quite pretty I suppose. And nice. And funny. And-"

"Al. I get it. She's perfect." She's everything I'm not.

Al just looked puzzled.

"Why do you care so much anyway Rosie?"

Rose just shook her head and started towards the stairs leading out of the Great Hall.

"I just... Well... I suppose... I..." Trailing off, she shook her head. No way could she tell her cousin that she was in love with Scorpius Malfoy. For one, he'd tell her dad, and then Ron Weasley would send her to the hospital, hoping that she was so sick that she didn't know what she was saying. When he found out he was telling the truth however... Well, Rose didn't want to think about that.

They climbed up six staircases in silence, following Malfoy and Browning at a respectable distance. Rose couldn't keep her eyes off of his blond, ruffles hair, so different from the slicked back, gelled mess it was back in First Year. But that was four years ago.

A lot had changed since then.

Breaking the engulfing silence, Al asked "So... What was the Charms homework again?"

Rose sighed, and, for the first time in a long, long time, truly smiled. Trust Albus to forget about the homework that was due in for the lesson they were heading to.

"Oi! Weasley! Wait up!" A low, menacing growl escaped Rose's lips.

"What do you want Malfoy?" He caught on to her arm to stop her from walking off to the Great Hall. "Please leave me alone. I'm hungry, I'm tired and I'm really not in the mood." Plus, she wanted to get out of his presence so that she relax, and forget about the way he had made her heart flutter, just by calling her name. Malfoy looked a little worried.

"I just wanted you to know that you did really well in the Quidditch match last week. I never got a chance to congratulate you properly."

Oh yes, that match. The one where Gryffindor had flattened Slytherin. The one where Malfoy had got off with Browning.

"Well, thanks. You flew well too."

Malfoy gave a small smile.

"I'll see you later then."

"Yeah. Bye." He bounced off down the last few remaining stairs, before joining his girlfriend at the entrance to the Great Hall. They walked off arm-in-arm, leaving Rose to stare after them.

She wished that she was the one that he threw a loving glance at, a cheeky smile.

She wished that she was the one that he kissed, laughed with, hugged, walked to classes with.

And, for the first time in her life, Rose wished that she was someone else.

Rose Weasley wished that she was Olivia Browning.

She wished that she was a self-centred, snotty busybody.

And all because of some guy.
