"We're moving to Mystery Island?" I was shocked. I always knew that Eleanor didn't like the constant coldness of Terror Mountain, but I never expected that I'd have to move away from it. We had lived in Terror Mountain for most of my nine-year-old life, and I didn't know what I'd do without my friends.

Eleanor nods slowly. "It's warmer in Mystery Island. I've heard that the ocean is never more than a mile away and that all the locals are nicer, too. Just think of it as an adventure!" Her smile is full of false cheeriness.

True, I have always wanted to have an adventure like the neopets in my books, but moving wasn't exactly what I had in mind. I try to stay upbeat to please Eleanor. "You don't think there'll be buried treasure underneath our new house, do you?"

Eleanor giggles. "Yeah, that would be nice. Tell you what. If you find any treasure chests, we can sell it and move back, ok?"

I wish I didn't know the real reason behind the move. There aren't many people on Terror Mountain, and it's hard to make neopoints selling stuff in our shop. If we moved to a more populated area, Eleanor could raise the prices enough to support us better.

"Ok, " I answer, already turning toward the door. "I'd better start looking for the map, then." I spin around and practically fly out the door. Just wait until Alia hears about this!

I take off right outside the door, my large blue wings unfolding as I race to tell my best friend. I soar over the blank snow on my way to her house. The sky looks much brighter than usual, the snow more crisp. It's like the weather is giving me one last nice day before I have to leave.

I search for Alia in the ice caves, before finally seeing her. As a bright pink Aisha, she shouldn't have been hard to find. I tell her the news.

"What? Really? When are you leaving? Oh, I'll miss you, Sparkle!" Alia hugs me tightly. "I can't believe you didn't tell me sooner!" Alia gives me her famous glare.

"No, really, I just found out today." I say, lowering my eyes against her stare. "Eleanor gave me some excuse about finalizing housing details, but I think she just forgot to tell me sooner." I give Alia another hug. "Plus, I can see you whenever I want." I gesture to my wings. "You'll only be an hour's flight away so I can still see you."

Too soon, Eleanor and I reach Mystery Island and unpack all our cardboard boxes. After what feels like hours, Eleanor tells me that I can go explore the island that is my new home.

The first thing that I notice while racing out the door is the heat. Where Terror Mountain would be cold but sunny, Mystery Island is unbearably hot with the sun beating down on my wings. I walk back inside to take off my usual fuzzy sweater.

"Back so soon?" Eleanor asks as I run back to my room. I shed my sweater for a T-shirt and run outside again.

Without a sweater the sun isn't really that bad, I think. I look around for something interesting to do. There's a beach, some tourist shops, a volcano wait, what? A volcano would be cool to visit! I spread my wings and fly for the volcano.
