Setting/plot.
About 3 to 4 years after the end of the movie, Moana has a child,
but she never met a man, could her child be a gift?
An illness spread throughout her island, causing Hiapo and her family to flee to the ocean,
but Hiapo gets separated and has to find Maui, using only the knowledge from her mothers stories,
she finds Maui, her family and a cure for the islands illness, on top of this she also gains a father.
Hiapo writes three separate diary entries, from leaving the island to being marooned on an island, or so she thinks.
The diaries are below, each is numbered 1 to 3, but they don't have dates.
Diary 1.
Island of Motunui.
Mid to late afternoon.
I'm writing today as my family prepares to leave Motunui for the ocean, a terrible illness has struck our island and we must leave to find a cure,
my Grandfather's just finishing talking to the village healer, hopefully we'll find a cure.
My mum's rushing around preparing the three docked canoes, they are tied together to create more room, one of which has several large leafs, Gran's collecting a few more coconuts from our empty hut, we are soon to leave.
My mum's now calling over to me to help, I must go and lend a hand.

Diary 2.
On the Pacific ocean.
Midday.
We've been travelling for about two to three days now and supplies are starting to run thin, we're starting to run low on fish.
I sleep most of the time as I do not yet know how to sail and I just seem to be in the way, me and mum share a leaf, but I have to sleep on my own a lot of the time.
Gran and Grandfather help a lot, but they can't do as much as they used to, I fear we may lose them soon.
Last night my mum told me the story of when she first sailed beyond the reef, my favourite part is always when she met Maui, the demigod.
Is that a large wave I see ahead, I fear we may capsize.

Diary 3.
On an island.
Mid-morning.
We capsized and I was separated from my family, I'm now on an island with the demigod Maui, I told him about the illness and that I was separated from my family who where travelling to find a cure,
although I passed out afterwards.
About an hour or two later I wake up with several darkened leafs wrapped around my abdomen, I must have cut myself between capsizing and meeting Maui, I'm in a small cave which is hugged by the warm glow of a small fire.
Maui must have heard me awaken as he parted the long leafs covering the entrance to the cave he was holding a small hollowed out coconut with a slightly blue liquid in, which he just told me to drink from.
I'm sitting up now telling him in more detail about what happened, hopefully he can help us.
