Darkstalkers: Ascension of the King of Vampires

Chapter 1

Dawn Before the Beginning

The stars shined bright as expected, even more so on this particular night. If a closer look is taken you can find the alignment between several of them, almost as if a message is being sent. A message… the first form of communication that was constructed between individual's from the very beginning. Form has changed over time, molded by the centuries of progressions that have been made through adversity and challenge.

Through the passing of the many decades brought an uncountable number of battles, wars waged for many purposes. It is also true faces were recognized, names sealed into the history books for all to remember. A name can be stamped into the stream of time, but rarely does it truly live on. A passed period always deteriorates, descending out of the conscious of time with the future to come.

But what if there was to be a change, a sense to restore an order not seen for centuries? A darkness not seen for decades makes that very threat, an ascension from the chain of death, from when it all began. If these events are to pass the entire galaxy could be facing a shattered mirror of darkness… can these plans be stopped before it's too late?

The halls were dark to where they traveled through, trailing the path they followed with the use of several torches witch could be found every few yards on each side. The walls were that of hard stone, not allowing any light in from the outside world. With each step they neared the location to where they were summoned. The density of the air was apparent, noticing the decreasing distance between the walls the further they went.

"Almost there."

With the gradually decreasing appearance of the torches that had helped guide the way a faint light could clearly be seen ahead. They headed that way, taking a right which lead them to a small room. They immediately took to a knee, bowing to someone whos face could barely be made out in the dark.

"I've arrived at your command master."

Nothing could be heard in the first moments of their arrival, taking seconds for a response to be given.

"Good, because it seems we've but one choice left Zelgan."

They didn't say anything in the wake of this, simply waiting for them to carry out the rest of the message.

"Your mission, head to the land of man and retrieve the warrior who holds the inner power of darkness," The figure behind the darkness instructed. "They may very well be our only hope for stopping what is to come."

"Where can I find this person?" Zelgan asked with his head still lowered to the ground.

"There ore of energy is like no other, you finding them shouldn't be a problem."

"And what is the name of the person of interest?"

"Ryu."

"Yes, I understand master."

"Now go, you have three days to see this task through.. I expect nothing past the given length."

Not another word needed to be said, it was clear what was asked of him. Without any further delay he stood to his feet, nodding one last time before turning for the exit. Could this very well be the person needed, or is the end of all beginnings to come?
