Ra becomes crisp.

In the bottom of a sand pit hidden by surrounding dunes, an orb of energy suddenly formed and dissipated, leaving behind a single armored humanoid.

The midnight black figure only just got it's balance back when it heard signs of battle on the other side of the dunes and proceed to investigate, what the figure saw once it peeked over the dune confirmed that it was exactly where and when it wanted to be.

Hordes of peasants wearing mostly brown robes were welding anything they could get their hands on were charging while explosions blasted all around them, when the figure looked at were they were charging their enemy and the source of the explosions became evident.

Large men wearing white robes and oversized eagle helmets appeared to be the targets of the hoard, In their hands were staffs which were being aimed at the crowd, shooting bolts of gold energy casing the aforementioned explosions wherever they landed… which fortunately wasn't where most people were at any given moment given how difficult it was to aim the damn things.

"Jaffa and staff weapons." the figure thought to himself knowingly. After looking around for a bit he saw other men dressed in army camouflage colors. "And those must be the first to have ever gone through the Stargate, except for Ernest that is."

After the Jaffa were overwhelmed by the Abydonian hoard rumbling was heard when the pyramid ship that served as Ra's capital ship began to take-off, leaving the victorious Abydonians and Tau'ri behind to be destroyed by the naquadah enhanced nuclear bomb.

The nuclear bomb that O'Neill and Jackson promptly sent to Ra's mother ship via transporter rings. The resulting explosion was simply a beautiful sight even from all the way down on the world of Abydos.

Kasuf the Abydonian Elder raised his hands and the crowd, instantly silenced their cheering to allow him to begin a triumphant speech. The figure couldn't tell what was being said exactly, but between his tone, his body language, and the crowd's response, the language barrier was irrelevant, while those who came through the Stargate including O'Neill and Jackson were clearly feeling like heroes, who after a long and difficult struggle had emerged victorious and could now rest in satisfaction.

"No." The figure's distorted voice whispered. "It has only just begun." at that moment the figure activated its cloaking field and it disappeared from human vision, with no one noticing the sand being disturbed as it ran to the Temple where the Stargate was located.

Just as it didn't notice the shimmer of light that formed in the spot where it first arrived.

"Yeeeeesssss." the shimmer agreed as it disappeared as well.

Hours passed and doctor Daniel Jackson had managed to activate the Stargate and connect it to Earth.

"You sure you want to do this?" asked O'Neil as the rest of the team had already gone thru.

"Yes, I'm sure."

"You going to be alright?"

Daniel looks behind him and O'Neill follows his gases to see Sha're smiling back.

"I'm going to be alright, how about you?"

O'Neill took roughly five seconds and then he replied "Ya... ya I think so." he said confidently.

With that O'Neill moved to enter the Stargate to return to Earth, when Daniel stopped him.

"Tell Catherine this brought me luck," he said as he handed the Eye of Ra amulet to O'Neill.

"I Will," he promised as he stepped forward to the lake-like wormhole With one last look back O'Neill called out to "I'll be seeing you around, Doctor Jackson." With that, he entered the portal causing a ripple and making the sticky-swooshing sound just like the others had.

What happened next confused Daniel, he saw another ripple and heard another swooshing sound right behind O'Neill, like someone invisible had followed him through the Stargate. Before he could do anything the Stargate deactivate, leaving him wondering if he actually saw it.
