She fell for him on a Sunday.
"Here," he said, lending her his arm as she climbed gracefully out of the car. He had a casual half smile on his face and his eyes sparkled with mischief as she was sure they would do until the day he died, and in that moment he looked every bit like a man she could love.
She kissed him on a Monday.
"Where're the others? They should've been back here two hours ago," he pointed out, checking his watch again and glancing at the door with a frown.
"I'm sure they're fine; they would have called us otherwise," she told him.
"Yeah, I guess, but what if Danny's…" He turned back to face her and as he did she placed her lips gently on his.
She slept with him on a Tuesday
"Stace…" he whispered into her hair, fingers lightly tracing her skin.
Her moan of "Ash" was lost in a fire of lips and skin and heat.
She lost him on a Wednesday
"So…Jake's back." He spoke calmly enough but his eyes told a different story.
"Don't you trust me? Yes, Jake's back, and I plan to exploit him for everything he's got. This has nothing to do with feelings I may have once had for him," she replied, voice raising slightly in indignation and defence.
"Stacie, when it comes to that man you're blind. All it's going to take is a few choice words and you'll be thinking that maybe you misunderstood him, maybe he left for your own good, maybe he still loves you…"
"Shut up! This is none of your business!"
"Right, well in that case I'll just stay out of your way."
The sound of the door slamming almost broke her heart.
She laughed with him on a Thursday
"So, you decided to stay with us lowlifes after all then?" he asked quietly, passing her a drink and looking at her softly, an apology that she was sure she didn't deserve.
"Yeah, looks like," she smiled and leant forwards, her lips touching his and the feel of him returning the pressure was the most relief she'd felt in her life.
"Wait a minute…" They pulled apart to find the others looking at them, two in shock and the other trying, unsuccessfully, to hide a smile. "You two?" Danny asked incredulously.
"Yeah, sorry mate, beat you there," Ash grinned cheekily.
It only took a few more seconds before they broke down with laughter.
She fell in love with him on a Friday
"He's an idiot," he told her, his face the picture of seriousness.
"Who? Danny?" she asked, spinning round to scan the room.
He laughed. "No, Jake." She turned back to him, laughter ceased. "He's an idiot to think that anything could matter more than you."
She didn't think she could have fallen harder.
She married him on a Saturday
"So, Mrs Morgan, regretting it yet?" he grinned, his arms encircling her.
She laughed and replied teasingly, "Nah, give it a week."
