It was a big day in Storybrooke. It was the American 'Super Bowl Sunday', and it was Thee thing to watch. Friends gathered, couples cuddled, everyone was making snack food. Except Mr. Gold. He didn't really understand the huzzah in some silly game. That was until Henry showed him a light.

Meandering around town found Gold in front of Granny's diner, leaning on his cane, lazily watching people stroll by. Henry ran by, wearing his little jersey, and said "Hiya Mr. Gold. Watching the big game tonight?"

Gold could tell he was hyped up over this convocation. "I'm afraid not, me boy." he smiled.

"Why?" questioned Henry

"I find it silly."

Henry's face got a wide expression. "It's football! I love football! You should come over tonight and watch the game! I'm gonna go watch it at Emma's. My mom won't let me watch football so I told her I'm studying with Miss Blanchard." Henry smiled evily.

"Good plan, my boy. Good plan."

"But Mr. Gold, you know where they live, and the game starts at 5:30. Come over at 3, and we'll have a party! I gotta go, I think my mom's calling me. See you tonight!" Henry ran away before gold could protest.

At home, Gold was going through his old things, seeing if still had a silly item from his school boy days...he did. Pulling it out of the old box, Gold saw dust fly from the object.

As the clock chimed 2:45, Gold grabbed his cane, and made his was over to the Swan-Blanchard residence. Ringing the doorbell, Henry answered. His face lit up, then Henry spontaneously hugged Mr. Gold.

The small boy hugged him wit hall his night as he murmured "Thank you for coming." Henry stood back, as he took Gold's wrist in his little hand, and lead him to the couch and yelped out "Guys! Mr. Gold's here!"

Emma and Mary Margret looked at each other, almost in disbelief, that the coldest man in the whole town would show up, just because Henry asked him to.

While they waited for the game to start, everyone snacked on chips and pretzels and finger sandwiches, cracked jokes, and enjoyed each other's company.

A half hour before the big game, Gold decided 'Now's a good a time as ever..' and announced "I'm hot. I'm gonna put my coat over in closet, be back in a second" he got up, and hung his item of clothing up, then when he walked back into the living room, Mary Margret, Emma and Henry looked at him in amusement.

Mr. gold was donning a football jersey. Or at least, an English football jersey.

Henry laughed.

"Yes?" asked Hold.

"Mr gold, we're watching football, not soccer."

"But football is-" then it clicked. He palm-faced himself. "Oh Lord..." Emma and Mary Margret tried to hide their laughter, out of respect.

He left his old jersey on, as they watched the game. Henry and Gold were rooting for one team, and the girls were rooting for the other.

In the off moments when the game got boring, Henry and the girls would ask Mr. Gold about when he used to play Ball. Apparently, he was one kick-ass player. He was wearing his winning jersey, even.

That night after the big game was over, the boys cheered, their team winning. That was when the doorbell rang. Emma almost didn't hear it over the victorious battle cries.

Answering the door, it was Regina. "May I pick up my son now?" hearing that voice, Mary Margret changed the station as Gold hobbled off at a steady pace to put on his jacket, concealing the little bit of evidence.

Henry greeted his mom at the door, book in hand, and they left. On his way out, Henry winked at Emma, and Mary Margret.

After the boy left, Gold came out of hiding, and said "Thank you very much for a lovely night, ladies." fixing his button and looking proper as ever, Gold left, the girls in astonishment; Seeing a new side of Gold they didn't even knew existed.
