Upset, Luna held Viktor's hand. She never knew how she got in these situations. Perhaps there was an undiscovered creature that caused people to get in bad situations.

All the same, this was not just a bad situation. As Luna stared at the row of Death Eaters with wands drawn, she could not help but think that this might just be the worst situation that she had been in. Her clammy palm gripped her wand as she took a steadying breath. As she desperately took in her surroundings trying to think of way out of this mess, she noticed Viktor's hand. Unlike hers, nervous, his was cool and steady. Taking a risk, she took her eyes off their enemies and glanced at the tall man next to her.

Viktor. The tall, gruff, international Quidditch star that somehow noticed a silly, little girl like herself. It had all begun at Bill and Fleur's wedding. He had noticed her dancing, but had been offended by her father. After everyone had gotten all scared and started running around, Viktor had approached her father and confronted him. Luna had jumped in between the two self-righteous men and explained the situation. Viktor had not been appeased.

Nevertheless, when she had bumped into him just before school started, he had been polite. Luna had been sipping warm tea in Diagon Alley, and he kindly joined her. It was not like Luna to get flustered around a boy, and so she didn't when Viktor began acting slightly more than kind. In all honesty, she hadn't been attracted to him before this, but he was so honest and sincere that she wondered if she would be hurt if this ended up all being an act.

Overtime, they had become friends. He wrote her letters, friendly at first, but they slowly grew more inmate. The whole thing made Luna's head spin. Life was so hectic and frightening at Hogwarts that she hardly had time to write back. But his letters kept coming.

When she went home for break, Viktor came to visit her. Just dropping by for a cup of tea, he said. Shyly, she brought him outside to show him her flower garden. The wind blew the blossoms lightly through the air. Luna was flustered, because she couldn't imagine why this man was interested in her. Underneath his gruff exterior, he was attentive and kind. Just as Luna was wondering if her heart could hold anymore, they came.

Death Eaters. They wanted her father. They would be content for now with a hostage. Luna gripped Viktor's hand and faced death head-on.

Luna looked at Viktor. He leaned down and whispered, Vot is life, if you have nothing to die for?"

Luna smiled as she looked back at those before her.
