Arkham Manor

Summary: Crossover with the Haunted Mansion. A series of short tales with your favorite batman characters, as well as a few OC's. I do not own any of the batman characters! Enjoy.

Tale 1: Mind your head

Once long ago,

in a country manor far away,

there lived a couple newly wedded

yet held the other with disdain.

Abigail hated Jonathan. Jonathan hated Abigail. It was as simple as that. No one ever bothered to ask why; they figured it ran in the families they came from. Jonathan's was middle class but well educated, for when asked to, he could name every fear known to man. Abigail's was rich, but they never considered furthering her education. Being the lady of the house, she was also expected to act as such and take up duties just like the wife. Sadly, such an expectation forced her to rebel even more.

She slipped out at night and drank with the men, smoked her father's cigars and cursed much like a sailor, perhaps much worse. Her family, outraged by such behavior, finally acted. For when she arrived home the next morning, there was Jonathan leaning against the gate, looking as sour as ever, in a wedding tux.

The free spirited woman was carried kicking and screaming to her room where she was dressed in her mother's wedding gown, snapping at any of the maids that dared to come near her. They eventually had to tie the poor forced bride up and dragged her to the church, her foul curses quieting when they entered. Abigail knew better when they were in God's house, as did Jonathan many a time.

So the wedding commenced without a hitch and the newly wedded couple were driven to the manor where'd they'd spend the rest of their days. Or so their parents hoped. However, weeks began to go by and they had yet to hear a single word from the two. Worried, Abigail's father went up to the manor.

But what he found was not what he wanted to see.

For in Abigail's cold hands was Jonathan's head, a bloodied axe and a shattered glass not too far away.

I hope you enjoyed this strange inspiration of mine. I also posted this on tumblr.
