The red and orange of the sunset filled the hospital room but the colors we beginning to fade. Jiraiya had already left and Naruto laid on the hospital bed staring at the empty ceiling. He promised Sakura that he would bring Sasuke back no matter what. He told off Jiraiya that he would do anything to get Sasuke back. But now, as he stares into up at the blank ceiling trying to recover his wounds, he wonders if his heart would recover enough for him to fulfill his promise. Sasuke had tore out his heart. His rival, teammate, and friend had betrayed and nearly killed him. Only an idiot would still care for somebody who did what Sasuke did. Naruto gripped his hair tightly with his right hand. His hand began to shake as he recalled the chase and the battle to get his friend back. Even after all they had been through, everything they had done together, he still betrayed everyone.

He kick the blankets off of him and sat up on the bed. Even if he did get Sasuke back, what would happen? Sasuke has already been classified as a criminal. A bounty for his head and a name in the "bingo book". Now both Uchiha brothers have gone rogue. A small grin formed when thinking that he might get the bounty for bringing Sasuke back. It was quickly dashed on the punishment Sasuke would face if he did come back. Forget remaining ninja, he would be fighting to remain alive. Tears were beginning to form in his eyes. He gripped his fists tightly and his hand began to bleed again.

Noticing his now bloody bandages over his hand, Naruto got up and walked over to the sink. Taking the bandages off, he looked at the open wound that was now bleeding again. It reminded him of the vow he took on his first major mission, to not run away and to not fall behind Sasuke. He didn't know what the future would hold, but he vowed that no matter happened, he would live up to his promises. Clinching his hand back into a fist, he made another blood vow. No matter what happened. No matter what will happen. He will bring Sasuke back. With a small smile, he washed the blood off his hand and saw that it was beginning to heal. Bandaging his hand again, he lie down in the hospital bed and soon feel asleep with a small smile across his face. One day, he will bring Sasuke back.
