This is my first attempt at creating my own original character for the Overwatch Universe. Meet Rain, my storm powered character. Hope you enjoy.
Grace Storm slowly opened her ghost white eyes, and flinched at the bright light that blinded her. She let her eyes adjust, and found that she was strapped to a surgical table with several trays of surgical tools on them surrounding her. She saw movement, and turned her head to look at who was with her.
It was a tall woman with short reddish purple hair, wearing a long white lab coat. Grace had no recollection of this woman, or of what happen to her. The doctor noticed that her patient had woken up and smiled coldly as she leaned over the table Grace was pinned to.
"Good Morning subject 49. 6. How are you feeling today?" she asked in a sinister way.
Grace tried to open her mouth to say that her head was pounding like there was a wild storm crashing through her skull. But no words came out, only blast of wind so strong that it blasted a hole through the roof the place she was being held. The doctor had manged to get out of the way, she looked at the hole in the roof and chuckled evilly.
"Perfect. Your powers have fully enhanced to the maximum. How delightful." she laughed as she checked something off on the clipboard she was holding.
Grace's head hurt, but she could see the sun shinning through the hole she had just made. She wanted to reach it, she needed the sun, and silently begged it to come to her. To her surprise, she got her wish.
The light bent unnaturally, as it curved and flowed onto her body.
The warmth began to heal her head and melted her restraints. She absorbed the sunlight as she swung her long bare legs over the edge of the table. The doctor watched her while scribbling notes on her clipboard.
Grace tried to stand but her legs, failed and she fell to the floor. The sun wrapped more of its light around her, and she soon found the strength to stand, then walk over to the hole she had made, the sunlight following her. Then the light faded and the sky above darkened with great storm clouds.
The doctor watched in awe as lightening rushed from the clouds above to strike the girl with all its fury, as if it was trying to destroy her. It curled around her licking every part of her naked body. Almost as soon as the storm had come it dispersed and the girl stood in a stunning white blue gown.
The skirt only went to her waist like a sarong, and her chest was covered by only a small breastplate suspended by a silver chain. Her face was hidden behind great waves of dark red hair held down by a crown of lightening bolts connecting to a triangle in between her perfectly shaped eyebrows. She turned to the doctor, lightening trailing from her white eyes.
"Where am I?" Grace demanded.
The doctor didn't say anything, but instead she looked at something behind the girl, a smirk in the corners of her small lips. Before Grace could turn she felt a sharp pain in her neck then an overwhelming feeling of exhaustion rushing through her body. Grace collapsed and looked up to see only a blurry outline of a pair of heeled boots before they kicked her in the face, knocking her out.
"That was too close, doctor." Widowmaker said with a strong french accent.
"She will adjust, but I think we have found our most effective agent yet." Moira smiled kneeling beside Grace.
the next time Grace woke up she wasn't strapped down instead she was standing in a large pasture of rolling green hills. She had a toy ball in her hand and a happy brown Labrador at her feet waiting for her to throw it.
She smiled and threw the ball with all her strength. She laughed as the dog fetched the ball and brought it back with excitement. She threw the ball again, then suddenly a loud siren pierced her ears. Next thing she knew she was being shut into a storm shelter while her dog who was running toward her got squashed by debris thrown by the tornado that was eating the fields she had been playing in moments before.
"Rex!" Grace woke with a start.
Her dog. She remembered how her father gave her that dog right after her mother had died. He had been her only friend, and how he had always made her feel better when she need him. She cried, wishing he were here now. Where ever here was.
She was in the same room, but this time the roof had been repaired and she was alone. She was not tied down so she got to her feet and walked around the room trying to remember anything about who she was, where she was, and how the lightening had obeyed her.
She wrapped her arms around her naked shoulders, she found a lab coat and put it on. She tried the door but it was locked, so she began to look for another way out. She saw her reflection it a large mirror on the wall. She placed a hand against the glass assuming it was a two way mirror. Her suspicions were proven to be correct when the tint of the glass faded to revel the Doctor, a strange looking woman, and possibly the largest scariest looking man she had ever seen in her life.
He was cloaked in black, and had weapons simply everywhere. He face was hidden by a super scary skull mask, that made Grace's spine crawl. The doctor touched something on her side of the mirror, and spoke.
"Well done subject 49.6 you are not easily fooled." She said.
"Where am I? How did I get here? Who are all of you?" Grace demanded, trying to call the lightening again like before.
"We are friends of yours. A large group of Omnics attacked you, and you were very hurt so I had my friends bring you here, so I could help you." The Doctor replied.
"Omnics? What are those? What is going on?" Grace was scared now, she slammed her fist against the glass in a sad attempt to be intimating.
"Oh my dear they are robotic monsters bent on annihilating all man kind. You are a new hope for the world. With storm powers you can slay millions of the monsters and the few humans that aid them." the doctor preached.
Something in Grace's brain made her believe every word the doctor said. She was made to destroy, anyone who got in her way, and any Omnic that got in her way. She would obliterate from the face of the Earth. Then a memory seeped its way back into her head.
"Where is Rex? Where is my puppy?" she cried at the faces behind the glass.
Chapter two – goddess of death.
It wasn't Soldier 76's first choice to be back with his old team, but just like them, when he heard Winston's message he couldn't say no. That is what got him back, but he hadn't expected this.
A town had supposedly been hit by something big, before he thought it must have been some rogue Omnic tanks, but now he doubted that. The town had been a city, and, had been hit by something big, was an understatement.
The city was in pieces, and there was no sign of Omnics being responsible. Tracer, who was standing next to him, pulled up the footage of the attack taken from some kid's cell phone. He was panicking as
a hail stone the size of a bus crushed him flat. Tracer pulled up more videos of no less the eighty-nine tornadoes ravaged the city.
one video showed the tornadoes deliberately converge and become one super tornado over 15 miles wide. The largest ever known, and 76 knew not caused naturally.
"What in Hell's name could have done this?" said Mercy, who was watching the footage and looking at the unbelievable amount of destruction.
"I have no idea, but we need to find out before this happens again." 76 growled with rough deep voice.
"Um, loves you might want to look at this." Tracer said zooming in on the huge tornado's center.
It was difficult to see but there was what seemed to be the outline of a human controlling the colossal storm from the inside. 76 couldn't believe that a human could be capable of that, but he had been wrong before.
"Oh my god it that...?" Lucio said, he too horrified. He had performed in this city, and now it was nothing but rubble.
"One of Dr. Moira's superhuman projects most likely." Winston said rubbing his chin.
"A person who can level a whole city with a storm. Who do we fight that?" Ana sighed.
"We won't find any answers here. Let's move out people." 76 ordered but glancing back at the destroyed city.
Talon had gone too far this time. He then noticed something peculiar, though the city was gone all of the city's dogs had been untouched. Even in the footage the dogs were avoided by everything the storm threw at the poor people.
Hmm, so we are dealing with a dog person, how does that help us?
Grace dropped the tech that Moira had had her get from the city on the floor of the former Overwatch base that Talon had been using for the last ten years. She was congratulated by the doctor, but only got a grunt of approval from Reaper.
She sighed and went to her room her energy spent from controlling a storm that big. The doctor promised her that it was all still new, and her body would soon learn to withstand the storm's power. She fell into her bed, so tired so fell straight into a very deep sleep.
Soon she was back in the fields of green, but this time she was on her knees holding Rex in her arms as she felt the life leave his body. She was only a little girl of 9 when she lost him, but it was the worst day of her life.
Grace was shaken awake by Widowmaker who said that she had another mission to do and needed her to go along for back up. Grace reluctantly nodded and got up with a yawn. The mission was to infiltrate a weapons depot for better weapons. She was supposed to give Widowmaker and Reaper cover.
The arrived, and she covered the compound in a thick blanket of fog. Something some old heroes noticed from the hills on the other side of the compound.
"76, this is Mccree and Genji you know that... um storm you told us about. Well... it is here." Mccree announced over his communicator.
"Shit, don't engage I repeat don't move. Tell us what you see." 76's voice barked.
Both cowboy and ninja watched Grace. They could barely see her, but from what they could see they knew she was a woman, and that she was young as D'va. Genji reported all he could see, and filled 76 in with how the fog kept them from seeing more.
"Damn, what is this girl?" he growled.
"I'm not sure, but if she can bend the weather to her will. Then Talon has the most powerful weapon in the world." Genji whispered his robotic voice poorly hiding his fear of the girl his was watching.
Suddenly the fog dropped away, and all the agents who had come were gone, same with the mystery girl. The two spies headed back to their own secret base, to regroup, and figure out how they were going to bring the storm girl down.
"What do we do?" Tracer asked sitting on the counter of the old bar they were hiding out in.
"I don't know we need to kill or capture this girl, before she does anymore damage." Ana said.
"She might not know what she is doing. Moira has tampered with minds before, with chemicals or chips. I personally don't want to kill a girl who might still be innocent." Mercy objected.
"I'm with Angela on that one love. What if this girl isn't some new monster. We should try to save her before we kill her." Tracer agreed.
76 was leaning in the doorway his visor hiding his eyes. He was trying to piece the girl together, he knew she had god like power and that she, like him, liked dogs. He didn't want to kill her ether, but if it came to that he would not hesitate.
Wait the dogs. He thought to himself.
"I have an idea," he spoke up after his long silence, "did anyone else notice that whenever this girl attacks she leaves dogs alone. I think we can use that, everyone get a dog."
Chapter 3- not what he had in mind.
The moment that Overwatch got word of a massive storm cloud over Hong Kong they immediately put 76's plan into action. They had gathered as many dogs as they could and set them loose in the city. Now hundreds of dogs flooded the streets, and while lightening flashed above the city, no tornadoes formed.
Unknown to them, it was not the dogs that was preventing Grace from unleashing all hell on the city below her. It was the sight of something else that had her frozen. She was so detracted that she didn't hear Reaper shouting at her to kill the Overwatch agents. Her white eyes formed in the clouds above the city, and stared wide-eyed at them, or to be correct one of them.
They heroes aimed their weapons at the enormous face materializing in the sky above them. Now they could see her red hair and how beautiful she really was. Still her eyes never left the man that held all her attention.
"Um, she isn't going for the dogs, Jack. What now?" Tracer asked with her strong British accent.
"Hold your ground." when he spoke the whole sky quivered with... excitement.
Ana caught on and grabbed 76's arm, and pulled him a few feet to the side. Grace's eyes followed like homing missiles trained on him. Ana pushed him the other way, and the eyes again followed. Now he was also figured it out and stepped back, forward, left, and right. No matter which way he moved, the storm girl's eyes followed his every move.
"Wow, I think she is hot for you, Jack." D'va laughed.
"Um, D'va that might not actually be a good thing." Mccree said chuckled.
Suddenly the ominous face in the clouds became smaller, and formed into the body of a young girl wearing almost nothing at all. Lightening swirled around her as she slowly descended, like a god coming to Earth.
"Or it might be a good thing." Mccree said taking back what he had said earlier, upon seeing her gown, or lack there of.
Suddenly the girl screamed with a flash of lightening. She fell from the sky, and 76 noticed Widowmaker on on rooftop. The assassin smiled, and mockingly saluted him, before grappling out of sight.
The storm girl hit the ground like a meteor, landing on top of a car crushing it. The lightening on her skin giving a final flicker then going out as she passed out. Genji was the first to find her, and immediately called for Mercy.
"That was unexpected." Moira hissed disappointed.
"She was looking at 76 like he was a sexy movie star. She was compromised, I had to take her out." Widowmaker explained.
"I understand, but I only wish I could have studied her longer." the evil doctor sighed.
"At least they didn't get her ether. I need not remind you want would happen to us if she joined them. She would destroy everything." Reaper growled his voice low and unpleasant.
"Yes, but it is still a pity." Moira repeated.
Grace woke up this time to a soft wet tongue against her cheek. There was a small black puppy on her chest, barking, happy that she was awake. She gasped and pulled the puppy closer, laughing as it licked her nose and mouth. She didn't know where she was, but she already liked it way more then the other place.
It was then all her memories hit her like a truck. Her name was Grace Storm, she used to be one of the boldest storm chasers in the world. Until she and her chasers were chasing a F5 across Oklahoma. When she saw some strange black smoke outside the window of her van. Then she blacked out until she woke in Talon's lab. Her friends didn't make it, but she had.
She had grown up it Kansas, and the memory of losing both her mother and her dog to storms was what drove to chasing. It had been just her and her dad all the way through high school and collage. She had a masters in meteorology, but that meant very little now.
Then she thought about right before Widowmaker had shot her. That man, he was old, but damn he was beautiful. She had been completely lost all her senses when she saw him. His everything was just so perfect that she was like a school girl with a silly crush.
The puppy barked and wagged its tail at her. She burrowed her face into its soft neck, but was then startled by a girl with short, wispy brown hair who suddenly appeared right in her face.
"Hello love! How are we feeling today?!" she asked cheerily.
Grace shrieked and zapped the intruder with a quick blast a lightening. Tracer flew backward against the wall. Grace hadn't put enough voltage in the blast to hurt her, but it still made Tracer's hair fluff up like an electrocuted sheep. She tried to flatten it, but it only made it worse.
There was another two way mirror at the end of the of the room, and from the other side Grace could hear someone absolutely losing it with laughter. Tracer pouted at the mirror and stood back up. Grace clutched the puppy, scared of what the Brit wanted from her.
"Sorry about that, I guess I should have given you fair warning. I'm Lena Oxton, what is yours, love?"
"G-Grace Storm. Where I am I? What happened to me?" Grace answered making a small tornado form in her hand.
"Talon, a nasty sort of people made you like that as a weapon of mass destruction. We found you though, and your are safe from them now." Tracer answered sitting on the end of the bed.
"How? I am sorry but if I have the power to control any storm. How did you even get close to me?" Grace didn't remember how much destruction she had caused, but she knew the power of the weather.
"Well that is kind of embarrassing, love. You saw Jack, and were so into him that you were shot by the same people who made you like that." Tracer replied blushing
Jack? Who was that, was he the super sexy guy she had seen before she got shot. She was going to ask Lena, when the door to her room opened and a women with golden hair came in. she was stunning to look at, but Grace had trust issues with anyone wearing a lab coat.
"Tracer, I will take it from here. She needs to eat something." the women said kindly.
"Righty ho!" Tracer saluted her as she left the room.
"Hello, my name is Doctor Angela, or Mercy. I thought you might like some breakfast. I see Jack was correct about the dogs." she introduced herself while petting the puppy.
Grace said nothing as she placed a tray of food on her lap, and started to take her blood pressure, and vitals. Why was everyone so nice to her? Her memories of the city she had massacred were starting to trickle in now, and she had lost her appetite.
"What have I done?" she whimpered as she started to cry.
Mercy dropped her tools and sympathetically wrapped her arm around Grace's heaving shoulders. The puppy tried to help by licking her face, but Grace still felt like she was a monster and that these people should destroy her.
"It wasn't your fault. They had put a microchip in your brain the made you do whatever they wanted you to do. Even with it, there were parts of you they couldn't control. The way you love dogs, and how you looked at Jack. You were there, even if you didn't know it." Mercy tried to comfort her.
Grace did feel a little better, and told herself that they were the true monsters for making her like this in the first place. She would make them pay for every life they had made her take, by raining all the fury of the sky, earth, and sea upon their heads.
She pulled away from Mercy, and stood then she realized that these must be those Heroes she had previously been ordered to annihilate. She appreciated how kind they had been to her, when she didn't deserve any of it. They even got her a dog, she held out her arms for the puppy, who happily jumped into her arms with a cute bark.
"I used to have a dog when I was a little girl. They have always been a weakness of mine." Grace said nuzzling the puppy's warm fur.
"Jack noticed you have a thing for them. He thought having one to wake up to would make you feel more comfortable." Mercy replied.
"Who are you?" Grace asked though she already knew, but she just wanted to make sure.
"We are Overwatch, or whats left of it." came a gruff voice entering the room.
It was a huge gorilla in what looked like a spacesuit and glasses. Grace was shocked by a talking gorilla at first, but then she could control a hurricane the size of Russia so she decided to go with it.
"I'm Winston, and I would like to officially welcome you to our little family here." He smiled extending a hand.
Grace remembered the Omnic Crisis, and what these heroes had done for the world. If they wanted to have her on their side she would give everything to protect them. She took Winston's over sized hand, and gave it a firm shake.
"I am ready." Grace smiled.
Chapter 4- nice ass.
Tracer instantly took to Grace, and happily grabbed her hand the moment Grace was allowed out of the hospital ward. She lead her through the bar base, and even poured two beers for them. The puppy had also fallen in love with Grace and followed her everywhere she went.
on the second floor where all the bedrooms were. Grace noticed the guy that had given her the puppy standing with his back turned to them looking out the large window that looked out over the lonely street below. Her eyes immediately locked on to his tight ass, and she smirked naughtily.
Tracer tugged on her arm, but Grace wouldn't budge. She saw 76, and followed Grace's gaze to figure out what she was looking at. Then recoiled in disgust.
"Oh come on! That is nasty." She barked slapping Grace's arm.
"But still the best view I have seen." Grace joked with a mischievous smile.
"Mate, he is like way older than you."
"Eh, doesn't mean he isn't still really nice to look at. I mean just look at his... well everything."
"Excuse me, but could you ladies stop discussing how good my butt looks." 76 yelled at them only turning his head a little so only part of his visor flashed them.
Tracer bolted, but Grace stayed put. She approached him slowly until she stood beside him looking out the window. Even with the visor hiding most of his face, a soft growl told her that he knew she was there and was annoying him.
"I wanted to thank you for the puppy," Grace said trying to break some of the tension, "Mercy told me he was your idea."
76 grunted in response, but said nothing else. He was trying his best not to look at Grace's bare stomach or how much cleavage she was displaying. The puppy sniffed his leg, and barked to get him to notice it. Even he couldn't resist a puppy. He knelt down to pet it, and Grace went to join him.
He looked up to meet an intense electric white stair. The only time he had seen eyes like that was if someone was blind, but he knew she wasn't. She adverted her eyes the moment he noticed, turning them back to the dog.
"You aren't very shy are you?" he asked putting a hand across his knee.
"Is a hurricane ever shy, or a tsunami? No I would rather not hide, but instead let you be fully aware of my thoughts toward you. That way it is not as awkward, when you hear me talking about your ass." Grace smirked.
Soldier 76 hadn't expected an answer like that. He raised an eyebrow, and stood. Grace stood too, and returned his hard glare with no hint of fear.
"I am not interested in pursuing anybody. I would appreciate it if you respected that, and keep your thoughts to yourself. Understood?" he said in his commander's voice.
Grace turned so he got a view of her ass, as she called the puppy to follow her. She looked back at him and sent him a wink.
"Whatever you say, Soldier boy." she teased leaving to catch up with Tracer.
Holy shit. 76 thought.
The girl was hungry, and made it very clear she was not about to back off. He shook his head trying to get Grace out of his head, but it was very hard. She was gorgeous and knew it. Playing with him like he was a young man again.
"Don't even think about it, Jack." he muttered to himself.
He knew the girl wasn't an enemy, but she was still plenty dangerous. He didn't trust her completely yet, and so far still didn't. He marched back to his room to sleep off the girl's enticements.
Grace chuckled to herself. She made first contact, and got him nervous. She wanted him, but she first wanted to make certain that he wanted her. She would tease him when they were here, and impress him when they were on mission. Sooner or later she would wear him down, like the sea against a cliff.
While she was scheming she saw a potted plant just outside one room. The poor thing was half dead and in desperate need of water. Grace touched the soil it was planted in and soon the dirt was filled with moisture. Then she bent the sunlight to shine directly on the plant. She left it there and found a room with no one in it.
"Well I guess it is mine now." She said.
The room however was a dust covered mess, with papers and garbage everywhere. Grace pursed her lips, and began to sweep her hands around in ever expanding circles. A tornado came to life in her room sucking up all the filth and throwing out the only window the small room had. Suddenly there was a knock on her door.
The tornado evaporated, and Grace jumped back as Genji entered. He annualized the room and the fading twister, then laughed.
"Well I guess you don't need to know where the vacuum is do you?" He joked, his robotic and Japanese accent making his laugh sound more funny then it should have.
Grace broke a laugh because of his. He didn't seem to mind, and bowed low to show his respect. Grace used to work with a Japanese storm chaser, so she knew to bow back. Which impressed Genji.
"I see you know your manners. Were you that you who took care of my bonsai tree?" he asked strengthening.
"Yes it needed a little help, so I thought I would help it." she answered.
"Well thank you, and welcome to Overwatch." He said gratefully putting a hand on her shoulder before excusing himself.
Grace smiled. She had found where she really belonged, she jumped backward onto her bed intending to land on a soft surface. Instead her head hit a hard slab, and pain. She sat up and rubbed her back, she got an idea. She went to the window, pulling the terrible bed with her. She threw it out the window and summoned a lightening bolt to blow it to pieces, sending a rain of stuffing onto the street below.
She saw 76 looking up at her from where the white fluff was falling like snow. She smiled and waved, he put a hand on his hip.
"What are you doing?" he asked, amused by her friendliness.
"Tidying, that thing wasn't fit for a bear to sleep on much less a human. I have a much better option." She called down to him.
Then she raised a hand skyward, and 76 watched as the clouds drifted down from their heavenly posts to obey her command. She pulled in enough to make a bed, pillows, and blankets. The clouds also formed into curtains and a lamp with lightening as the light.
She finished and teased him again by making a group of clouds gather around him. Then they formed into a cloudy likeness of her upper torso the aberration ran her cloud hands around his chest and back. It eventually came around to slid its hands slowly up his abs, his chest again, and finally ruffed his hair before vanishing with a giggle.
He looked up at her window in shock. He enjoyed the attention she was giving him way too much. He shouldn't , he knew it, and it was killing him.
Easy Morrison, you march up there and she will have you right where she wants. Stay cool, I am not interested. He lied to himself.
It was then he heard snickering from the top of a crate beside him. He turned to see the kid D'va laughing at him. She was laughing so hard she was almost falling off the crate,so he helped her by kicking the crate with his boot. She fell over backward, but continued to giggle.
"Wow she makes you stiffen like a noob in a horror game!" she laughed her high voice getting on his nerves.
"D'va shut up!" he barked
"Oh come on grandpa, how often do you get a date? She likes you is that such a crime?" she giggled leaning forward on the crate.
He clenched his fist and growled. He hated it when anyone called him grandpa, and seriously wanted to hit this kid. The storm girl wanted a lot more than a date, and he wasn't going to go down with a fight.
"Don't call me that, and I don't need dating advice from a kid who has only been in virtual relationships." he snapped back.
D'va squinted and pouted, getting mad. Usually the old soldier was her favorite target to mess with, this time he had nailed her. He bounced his messy eyebrows at her slyly, and headed out on patrol to get away from both women.
Grace had felt every thick muscle on Soldier's body as her cloud self had felt him up. She now laid on her new cloud bed and looked at her hands with a sigh of pleasure. He wasn't going to fold easily, but she was tempting him and she knew it.
Her puppy jumped on her stomach and barked happily. She lifted it to her face, and smiled as it licked her face. She was keeping this puppy, it wasn't Rex, but it was still hers now.
"What should we name you little guy?" she said to it in a cute voice.
It barked and wagged its tail so hard its whole butt moved with it. Grace laughed at it and hugged it close.
"Alright, Waggles it is." she smiled.
Waggles barked and whimpered, with her experience with dogs Grace knew he was hungry. She didn't have any food and didn't know if there was any in the base so she set Waggles down and opened the window again.
"I will be back soon buddy don't worry." she promised when she heard his pitiful barking.
She then turned into a thundercloud and whisked out the window, to the surprise of Tracer who watched from her window as a great with storm cloud moved with a life of its own toward the town. She jumped up to follow it before Grace got into trouble.
Chapter 5 – a name for a hero.
Grace reached the market of the small town in Italy that the team had been taking refuge in. She drifted over it in her cloud form looking for any vendor selling dog food. She had some money, cause she had figured out that she could make it out of cloud. She didn't need to steal, but she didn't want to attract attention. She was smarter then that.
76 was on a nearby roof watching for any Talon agents in the market when he saw the random white cloud blow over the city. For a brief moment he saw Grace's face in it, and growled in frustration.
Doesn't this girl ever give up? He thought angrily.
Then he watched as the cloud descended, and began to take shape in a ally near one of the vendors. This time the gown had been replaced by a pair of blue skinny jeans, and a loose plaid farm girl shit.
Her red hair now was pushed back with a white headband, and wavier than a poodle's.
76 found this outfit much more attractive than the other one. This is what she looked like before Talon found her, she was beautiful, too beautiful. He would have to fight harder to resist her now.
Grace approached the vendor she had seen selling dog stuff, and selected two bags of kibble. She handed the man who owned the shop her cloud bills, and slung both forty pound sacks over her shoulders. She thanked the owner, and returned to the ally way.
This time she saw a man with his gun held to a woman's head. He was yelling at her to give him all her money, and valuables. Grace put the dog food bags down and with a flash of lightening was in her gown again.
"Hey!" she barked making the thief jump and grab the woman. Using her as a shield against Grace.
"Not one more step or I blow her head off!" he spat back.
"Not going to happen." Grace smiled as she made a flash of lightening strike the gun.
The thief yelped, and was surprised when the woman was tugged from his grip by a very strong wind. She was now behind Grace, and the thief watched in disbelief as a huge lightening bolt struck him in the chest, sending him flying. He hit the wall, and was instantly knocked out by the impact.
Grace picked up the woman's purse and kindly handed it back to her. The woman thanked her and ran off. Grace switched back into her jeans and shirt just as she noticed Tracer watching from the top of the wall the thief was slumped against. Her smile bright with pride.
"Feels good being a hero doesn't it?" she chuckled.
Grace smiled, and picked back up the bags. "I am not a hero just because I helped one person, Tracer. I'm just happy to be helping the right side of that argument this time."
"Well we still need to find you a name to make you truly a hero. You know like mine." she said jumping from the wall.
"Why won't Grace do?" Grace asked playing into Tracer's fast pace.
"We already have a Mercy, if Grace was thrown in, it would make us sound like a church or something. No it should have something to do with your storm powers. How about Storm?" Tracer suggested.
"Too cliché." Grace laughed.
"All right then how about... um Twister. No makes you sound like a game, or maybe cloudy, no that doesn't work ether." Tracer was getting frustrated trying too hard to find her friend a name.
"I kind of like the sound of Rain. Not too much, while still being interesting." D'va said stepping up from the side, startling both girls.
"D'va don't do that. You scared the daylights out of me." Tracer complained.
"Sorry Lena, but how about it Grace?" she asked hopefully.
Actually it wasn't bad. Rain was powerful, able to raise floods, mudslides, and storms almost instantly. Grace liked it, and she decided it would be the name the world would recognize her as. Rain the living storm.
"It's perfect. Thanks D'va." Grace said hugging her friends close.
she got back to her room and fed Waggles. Then went exploring the hideout, she ran into Winston in the office. He congratulated her on her new name, and she thanked him. Then she left to check the bar for anything to drink. She noticed an old piano in the corner, and walked over to it.
The keys were dusty, but she was surprised to see that it was still in tune. She sat on the bench, shooting a quick glance around for anyone. She was alone, so she started playing a beautiful melody that she remembered from her childhood. She closed her eyes and let her memory take over.
Music filled the hideout and the street out front. Hitting the ears of Mccree, he new the tune she was playing for his mother had also used to sing in to him as a lullaby. He leaned against a wall and gladly listened to Rain play. Soldier heard it as he was returning to the base. He didn't know that song, but he had a guess as to who was playing.
Shit! How do I get passed her? He didn't want to deal with her yet, he looked for a way to get in without her noticing him.
He saw the door onto the second floor balcony open. He wall jumped to reach the roof of the building beside their hideout, and used it to jump to the balcony. He smiled because he made it, but then frowned when he couldn't hear the piano.
"Nice try soldier boy." came Grace's voice from the cloud that sprang up from behind him.
He jumped and rolled to face her. How had she seen him? She took form next to him, and held out a hand to help him up. He shoved it away and stood, angry that his plan had failed. She just looked at him innocently, a charming smile spread across her rose colored lips.
"Would you leave me the hell alone!" he yelled losing his patience with her.
"Nope. You're too much fun." she teased tilting her head so her red hair brushed her face.
"I told you before I don't care if you like me. I not interested. If you don't back off I will shoot you in that pretty face." he barked pulling his huge gun from his broad back.
"Aw, you think my face is pretty?" she had him now.
"No... that is not what I... ah damn you!" he took aim and shot a pulse at her head.
The bullet hit nothing but the concrete behind Grace as she became cloud and flanked behind him to poke him on shoulder. He turned and fired again, but once again hit nothing. Grace laughed as she moved again to stay behind him with every attempt him made to shoot her.
She played with him like this for a few minutes before using a blast of wind to throw his weapon down to street below. A second wave pushed him against the stone pillar that supported the overhang above them. Before he could react she was there, pinning him to the wall with fists made of wind.
"Next time you shoot at someone make sure it is in a fight you will win." she hissed before dropping him though she leaned in and gave him a small peck on the cheek.
He growled again, and tried to swipe at her. She caught his fist though and soon his was on the ground with his arm behind his back, and Rain's knee digging into his spine. She had combat training? How?
"How did you do that?" he asked puzzled.
"My dad was special forces. He wanted to make she his only daughter would be able to take care of herself he put her through all of the army's training." she answered letting him up.
Soldier 76 got to his feet a new sense of respect forming for the girl that wouldn't leave him be. A cloud behind her held up his gun, and handed it to him. He didn't like how annoying her pursuit of him was, but he did respect the amount of power she held in her body. He slung his weapon his shoulder, and walked away his thoughts of her rethinking themselves.
Before he disappeared, he took a second look of his shoulder at her. She was starting to grow on him, and he knew she knew it. She knew how to win the game she was playing. hard and steady. Surrender was still not something he was used to, so he turned and charged her unexpectedly.
This time his body smashed into hers like a fright train. He pushed her over the side of the balcony railing, and he watched with a hidden smile as she fell to the street. A cloud cushioned her fall, but she still looked up at him with a irritated expression.
"Next time, make sure to not get in a war with me." he called down to her, before he walked back to his room.
Grace brushed herself off, and stuck her tongue out at where 76 had been. She would get him back for pushing her later. Mccree stepped up to her chuckling, he took off his hat, and bowed slightly.
"hey I heard you playing before, and I would like to thank you. My momma used to play like that, and well I am much obliged." He thanked her in his very strong western cowboy accent.
"Your welcome. My mother played it too." Grace said let him help her up.
She smiled, and Mccree decided that he would play with her whole campaign on 76. he twirled he around, and then knelt down on one knee. He lifted a hand in invitation.
"Then will you honor me with this dance. It will make Jack, blush." He purred.
Grace laughed and took his hand knowing full well what he was up to. Her cloud fingers began to play the keys, as Mccree spun her this way and that through the street. Their evil plan worked because the moment 76 heard the music, and then Grace's loud laugh. He bolted to his window to glare down at the two.
Grace saw him and changed tactics. She let Mccree pull her leg up to his hip seductively, she winked at the cowboy who got the clue. He leaned in for a extremely tender kiss, but his lips never got close. Three pulse grenades exploded between them, blasting them apart.
Grace made sure Mccree wasn't hurt and looked up at where 76 was, his gun still smoking. She smirked, her lower half became a tornado, lifting her to him. She put one hand on her hip, and leaned on his gun with the other. He realized his mistake and tried to retreat, but he was cut off by a thunderstorm in his room.
"I thought you didn't care. Why shoot Mccree if you have no interest?" she asked slyly.
Shit shit shit! His head screamed, he had no way out of it this time. He had lost the war, she had beat him at being stubborn.
"Damn you. Damn you both!" he shouted turning to get a first hand view of her it her farm girl outfit.
"So aggressive. And yet you got jealous, you like me admit it." She demanded thunderclouds forming around her.
Aggressive that is actually want he needed to be with this woman. He rushed her again, and pinned her to the wall of his room. He wanted to show he meant it, so he placed his pistol against her forehead and she heard it click, meaning it was ready to fire.
"I do not like you. I only fired because you were drawing attention to yourselfs. You can sleep with anyone you want, but me. I don't care, and I will never care. Pester me again and I don't care what everyone says. I will put a bullet through your head, you damn bitch!" he barked angrily.
For the first time since she had started bothering him, Grace was actually afraid of him. She truly believed he would kill her if she kept doing it. She started to cry, and became cloud drifting out of his grip up into the sky above.
It started raining as the growing storm sailed away out of the town, and toward the countryside. The rain getting harder as it floated away. 76 watched it leave and grinned under his mask. She was gone he was free, but then it hit him. She was going to be noticed by Talon the minute she left the town.
He cursed himself for being so stupid and chased after the storm like a mad man. Shouting for the cloud ahead of him come back.
Chapter 6- now comes the storm.
76 had been correct about her getting noticed the moment she left. Things like a massive hurricane ripping apart Venice tended to caught a lot of people's attention. Moira flicked her eyes across screens filled with various news reports, YouTube videos, and other videos of a colossal storm forming over Italy and France.
"Well well. Looks like subject 49.6 has survived. How extraordinary." she chuckled coldly.
"We will bring her in. Dead or alive." Reaper growled disappearing into a cloud of smoke.
Moira continued to watch with growing fascination as the storm grew, and destroyed more. Its size now growing to cover Germany and Spain.
"Jack what did you do!?" Genji shouted over the roaring wind.
They had caught up to him as his stood on a hill overlooking the horrifying spectacle before him. Grace's super storm was now so big that it was covering the entire European continent, and was getting larger with every raindrop that hit the ground.
Soldier 76 stared wide eyed at the horror he had unleashed upon the world. Why did he have to be so stubborn, all she wanted was to impress him, and he had tried to kill her. This was his fault, and now it was too late.
"Grace! Stop!" Tracer shouted up into the angry heavens but only got more lightening as a response.
"Oh my god!" D'va screamed as massive wave came climbing over the top of the hills from the direction of the coast.
It was over hundreds of feet tall, it formed into a fist and smash trough the town they had just been hiding in. it was nothing but splinters in seconds. An angry voice thundered from the sky above and 76 saw Grace's face form in the clouds.
"You wanted me to be a villain. I am a god!" her booming voice crashed through the sky.
The cloud face opened its mouth and from it came a tornado many miles across. It tore through the next town, and it was then that Ana saw Widowmaker in her sniper rifle scope. She was holding onto a building by only her grappling claw, as the huge tornado drew closer to her.
"Jack, Talon is in that village. Grace isn't angry with you she is trying to kill them." Ana shouted for shouting was the only way they could hear each other.
"And bringing all the fury of the Earth with her." Genji yelled.
"We can't let her destroy the world trying to kill them. What do we do?" Winston yelled too.
Without a word Soldier 76 ran down the hill into the town, leaving his team behind. He dodged falling debris, and got closer to the massive cyclone. He climbed on to a building in clear view of the twister, and was about to call out her name when a bullet from Reaper's shotgun hit him in the back.
"Morrison. You never learned to check behind you." The man who used to be 76's friend sneered coldly.
76 went for his weapon, but Reaper kicked off it the building. Then grabbed 76's jacket and threw him to the other end of the roof. 76 tried to get up, but because of the wound in his back he couldn't stand to fight. He pulled out his pistol, but it had been crushed. Reaper punched him in the face, and then several times in the stomach.
He grabbed Jack by the throat, and lifted him off the ground. He pulled out a shot gun and put it to his old friend's head.
"Any last words, Morrison?" he asked not caring how overused that line was.
76 knew this was it, he had no weapon, and no hope of escape. It was then he looked behind Reaper to see the huge image of Grace's face glaring at Reaper. The tornado that had been paying no attention to him, now hovered only feet away from the two men, the girl's face formed on its side.
"Only three, Fuck you Reyes!" 76 shouted before flinching.
Grace's tornado face roared and charged Reaper pulling 76 from his grip. She set him down on a different roof, and smiled as she turned back to Reaper. He was trying to escape by becoming smoke, but only succeeded in getting pulled into the twister. Rain then hit him with everything she had lightening, hail, giant snowballs, and everything else she could think of.
Then she threw a screaming very broken Reaper, and Widowmaker, who she had caught when her rope broke, miles away into the distant sea. 76 coughed, so she turned attention back on him. Her white eye bold against the black funnel that made up her face.
"I guess I should apologize. I never meant to hurt you." he said shyly.
It is difficult to not wet your pants when you are talking to a cyclone with a face in it. Especially when it was angry with you.
"No one hurts my soldier." the storm boomed.
The storm covering half the earth began to recede back to where it had began, and the world watched as the super storm shrank. Grace's body materialized hovering above the soldier her gown reminding him of how powerful she was. Suddenly the skies became clear and the girl dropped for the sky like a stone.
Soldier 76 rushed forward, despite his wound, and caught her in his arms. She was unconscious, but was still breathing. Mercy had calculated that the bigger the storm the more energy it would take for her. She had covered half the planet in one super storm, how the effort didn't kill her baffled 76's mind. He carried her out of the desecrated town to find Mercy.
Chapter 7- getting her wish.
Grace woke to Tracer sitting on the end of her bed, Mercy dabbing her head with a cool rag, and 76 standing guard in the door way. She smiled because once again she had shown them her god like power, and the destruction she could bring. Still they helped her, worried about her like true friends, like family.
"What's with all the sad faces?" She joked with a tired laugh.
Tracer gasped and wrapped her arms around her neck. Grace hugged her, happy to have her friend back. She heard excited barking and saw that 76 was holding Waggles.
"Waggles! Here boy." Grace called to him.
He wiggled from 76's arms and ran to her bed. He tried to jump up with her but his short puppy leg couldn't make it. Mercy giggled, and helped the puppy onto the bed with Grace. He eagerly stumbled his way over her legs to get to her face, and started licking her affectionately.
"Yes good boy, very good boy. I love you too, little guy. Yes." Grace laughed, encouraging him.
She noticed that 76 had left his post at her door, and she wanted to follow. Mercy stopped her, advising her to wait until she could heal her some more. Grace ignored her, and got up, handing Waggles to Tracer. She followed the soldier, but she only got to the hallway before realizing they were in what was left of the bar, and the town they had been in was nothing but wet rubble.
She saw the survivors digging whatever they could out of the soggy remains of their houses. Genji was pulling shards of the flower pot that once held his tree out of the destroyed building, he looked at Grace with a sad look.
She never meant to hurt so many people, she sighed. Then she remembered how she had fixed her room with clouds, and got an idea. She twirled into a tornado, but instead of destroying more, the funnel picked up the broken pieces of the town, and set them back in place. Soon the town was put back together as if none of it had happened. She had sucked up the water and dumped it up the torn up farms on the outskirts of the town.
She took an extra moment to completely rebuild the bar so that it stood three stories, instead of two. The bedrooms were still on the second floor, but now they were a lot nicer than before. The bar became a common room downstairs, and Mercy's lab almost doubled in size. The third floor was for training, Grace had filled it with targets, weights, and a dojo for Genji. She had made their hideout a home for all of them.
She became herself again and admired her work. Mccree, and Genji watched the whole makeover take place. Now they cheered happily, and patted her on the shoulder as they ran back inside. Before he got away Grace stopped Genji with a wall of air bringing him back to her.
"I so sorry Genji."Grace said pointing to the shard of pot still in his hand.
"It was only a tree, losing you would have been a far more terrible fate. Friend like you are hard to find." He replied, reassuring her.
He ran off to beat Mccree in the race for the best room. Grace headed inside, but was startled when her arm was grabbed by 76. he pulled her into him, and let her hand land on his chest. She smiled when she realized who it was.
"Nice work," He said, "this place was in desperate need of a renovation."
"I clean up after myself, soldier boy. However I'm glad you like it." she replied remembering not to pester him again.
She heard a click, and watched as 76 used his hand to remove his mask. His face was scared, and lined. His eyes however where a rich bold blue, which had never lost their shine to age. He wasn't a young man anymore, but he wasn't passed being beautiful, not yet anyway.
"I wanted to thank you for saving my life, you know from Reaper. I also wanted to say that I am sorry for the things I said. I just don't like losing." He apologized, rubbing the back of his neck.
"So I noticed, wait does that mean?" Grace gasped excitedly.
76 stifled a laugh, and put his hands around her waist. He pulled her close, cupping the back of her head with one massive hand. Then he leaned in, and kissed Grace's lips tenderly. She stiffened in his arms letting herself get lost in his kisses. His tongue slipped in and massaged hers before it explored her mouth carelessly.
Grace moaned, and pushed her body harder against his. She slipped a hand under his jacket and shirt caressing his eight pack. He lifted her off the ground so he could carry her upstairs and into his room. He rested her on his bed, his hands rooming.
She reached down and teased him until he almost lost his control right then. He snatched her hand away, he started kissing her neck as he pulled the zipper on his jacket down. Soon both of their clothes were on the floor, as his fingers pushed in her. She mewed as he pumped her a few times, before removing her fingers.
He placed his dick against her tight entrance, and pushed it in slowly as she whined. He started slowly pulling in and out. He moved faster, kissing Grace passionately. She bucked and squirmed against him. He pushed into her harder and faster as grunt escaping from his mouth. Then Grace surprised him by flipping him over and began to foundling his balls forcing him to loose control.
Grace screamed as he came, filling her. She came after and gasped as he withdrew. They laid next to each other exhausted. They fell asleep, 76's strong arms holding Grace close, he let her smell fill his head and happily drifted to sleep.
Maybe this will won't be so bad. Was his last thought before he fell asleep.
