And Then There Was Silence

Faster.

(pant)

Better.

(gasp)

Harder.

(sharp breath)

Stronger.

She ran and ran and huffed and puffed, because she was in her own little heaven and no one could ruin it.

The numbers climbed, higher higher and her smile grew, wider wider wider and eyes closed gently

(and she danced to her very own beat)

and thought she could do this forever and ever.

b e t t e r

She was a dreamer, not a doer, never ever a doer.

She'd dream of a perfect world, her perfect world, paradise.

In her paradise, she finally had control.

Her and Derrick could and would be together, together forever, and she never had to grow up, and the world was a canvas of endless blues, vibrant pastels, black and gray prohibited.

(the line between dreams and reality is shrinking)

And she knew it wasn't real, she knew she had no control over the bustling world around her, but she had control over herelf, right?

She had to have it, and she she'd change, she'd improve until she was p e r f e c t.

h a r d e r

Sometimes, she could feel.

She could feel, and she h a t e d it, and she pushed herself harder harder harder because feelings were a bump on the road and she wouldn't let it interfere with her main goal.

(why can't she be a machine?)

s t r o n g e r

She was strong strong strong, and the strong overcame the w e a k until it disappeared completely.

She stopped feeling pain and stopped having doubts and just l i v e d and ran and skimped and had no idea, never ever ever never had any idea how weak she had really become.

(are you happy now?)

Faster.

(groan)

Better.

(shriek)

Harder.

(thud)

Stronger.

(and then there was silence)

Props to D R O W N- I N- S E Q U I N S for the harder harder harder weak weak you get the point point point thing, since I got the idea (stole it) from her though she doesn't do spaces and I'll never be as good as her but I just love that style, you know? It's just so beautiful and emotional and imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, right?

anyways, review!
