I don't own the Harry Potter universe.

He was doing it again. James Potter was staring at the girl of his dreams, the girls who kept turning him down, Lily Evans. And it was really annoying his best friend, Sirius black. He banged his head on the table. Fortunately, this action regained James' attention.

"James we're not here to stare at Evans. We're here to try to find out what's wrong with Remus. I don't believe for one minute that his mother is sick all the time." Sirius was glad he had James back in the real world

"Well, what are the facts?" James took out a blank piece of parchment.

"One, Remus disappears once a month. Two, when Remus disappears, it's during the full moon. I looked at lunar charts. Three, Remus leaves Potions whenever we use wolfsbane or any type of moonstone other than Howlite. Four, Remus always seems to be a bit peaky. Five, he has a right old temper during the week before the full moon. And six, Remus' Boggart is a silvery orb that looks like a moon. Is that everything?" Sirius took the list that James was writing.

"I think that's all. So either Remus is a very weird girl with a moonstone allergy or he's a werewolf," said James with a mater of fact voice.

"I opt for the werewolf option. But how do we confront him about this? Frankly, I don't care that he's a werewolf. It doesn't matter to me what happens one night a month." Sirius glared at James as though he was daring him to disagree."

"Don't glare at me. I agree with you. I was taught that the inside is what counts. And inside Remus is a great person." James looked at his papers. "But that doesn't help us. We need to tell him that we know. And we have to decide whether or not to tell Peter."

Then Remus came up to there table. He saw James hide the parchment he was working on. This action caused Remus to become suspicious... well a lot of things about the two did that but that's beside the point.

"What are you two doing? What can't you tell Peter?" Remus had one eyebrow lifted.

"We know about your furry little problem." James blurted that out quickly.

At those words, Remus ran out of the Common Room. James and Sirius ran after him. By the path they were taking, they knew Remus was heading towards the Headmaster's office. Fortunately, while he was short, James was very fast and was able to catch him and tackle Remus to the ground. Sirius slowed down and laughed at the pair that was wrestling on the floor.

"Remus," James gasped, "will you stop fighting me so we can talk?" A panting Remus stopped trying to get away. "Sirius and I don't care that you are a werewolf. All we care about is that you are a good friend. We'd be pathetic if we hated you for something you couldn't control."

"We've been doing some research on werewolves and we are trying to find a way to help you. So far the only thing we found is that animals can be around werewolves without being in danger of the wolf." Then Sirius got his 'stupid but brilliant idea' look on his face. "That's how we can help; we'll become animals."

"Perfect! Now all we have to do is tell Peter... and learn how to become animals with anyone knowing." James was enthusiastic as ever as he led Remus back to the Common Room with his arm around his friends' shoulders. Remus let out a sigh of relief as he let James steer him.
