Summary Peter gets caught in a rather awkward situation outside The
Daily Bugle. movie-verse
Note Short I know. I wrote quite a bit while I was on vacation, just
several one-shot small things like this.
It was a typical day in Mr. Jameson's office. Half-ignoring the young photographer in front of him, he finally averted his eyes to the twenty-something as his order shifted in mid-sentence. "Parker," he barked out, "are you doing anything Friday night?"
"I - "
"Because you're going to It Had to Be You."
Peter Parker stared. "Mr. - "
"Good," Mr. Jameson looked rather pleased with himself. "The show starts at eight." He handed Peter a ticket. "When there, you are going to follow Mary Jane Watson. Find out who she's seeing," Mr. Jameson rose from his chair as he continued speaking, "find out embarrassing things," he motioned for Peter to join him. They walked through the office, Jameson still firing off more vengeful suggestions.
Peter's mind reeled. It had only been a week since he and Mary Jane started dating. It also had been a week since she stood Mr. Jameson's son up at their wedding for a man that the gossip columnists wanted to identify.
Mr. Jameson and Peter stepped out into the twilight. "Willamson will be going with you and - "
"Peter!"
Both men turned at the voice.
Mary Jane Watson walked up, green eyes fixed on Peter. Kissing his cheek, she said, "Hey there, Tiger. I was in the neighborhood."
Peter could feel Mr. Jameson's eyes boring into the back of head. His mind raced for what to do next. Before he could think of something good, Mr. Jameson barked out a very disgruntled, "Parker!"
