Silent Winds

Disclaimer: I own nothing.  If you are reading this, I am assuming you like Harry Potter.  If you like Harry Potter, you already know whom everyone belongs to!

Harry Potter was just your average sixteen-year-old boy.  He had grown up since he entered Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.  No longer small and scrawny, Harry Potter had grown up to have a tall muscular stature.  His sleek black hair no longer wild, his green eyes gleaming brighter than ever.  Harry Potter.  Handsome, and excellent Quidditch player, an excellent wizard, and the kindest person you'll ever know.  Most girls would be dying to be with him.  That is most girls.  The one Harry liked most of all wouldn't give him a second look.

Harry sat in the Gryffindor common room with his two best friends, Ron and Hermione.  Hermione was quite content playing, and losing, to Ron in wizard chess.  They were happily talking.  Harry's mind was somewhere else though.  He couldn't keep his mind off of her.  She kept going through his mind, and he wanted to just see her face more than anything.  Her soft blue eyes, beautiful flowing hair, her amazing smile.

"Harry?  Harry?  Come back Harry!"  Hermione laughed, as Harry snapped out of his trance.

"Harry, what world were you in?  We've been trying to get your attention for five minutes already!"  said Ron, with an insane grin across his face.

"I, er, I was just doing some thinking…"

"Ha!  Since when do you sit down to 'do some thinking'?"  Ron said, with his grin growing, if possible, even wider with every breath.

"Come on Harry, you can tell us the truth.  We aren't your best friends for nothing, you know,"  giggled Hermione, for she knew exactly what he was thinking of.  The question was…

"Who is it Harry?  Come on, spit it out, we won't tell anyone,"  said Ron,  now with an insane laugh to go with his grin.

"No one, it's… it's no one.  I have to go."  Harry didn't want to press the subject.  He knew they could never understand how he felt.

"Go where?  It's Christmas, there aren't any lessons."  Hermione replied, with a small grin.  Try as she may, she couldn't help but laugh a little.  Seeing Harry act like this over a girl was definitely something to laugh about.

"I've got to… I've got to write to Sirius."  Harry immediately knew that wouldn't cut it, he had just written to Sirius that morning.

"Come on Harry, you just-"  Ron started to say, but Hermione cut him off.

"Oh Ron, let him go.  He'll tell us what's up when he's ready,"  said Hermione, who paused, and then finished, "You are going to tell us, right?"

"Yeah, sure.  When I'm ready.  I really need to go… somewhere."  Without another word, Harry left the common room and headed off into the corridor.

"What's up with him?" pondered Ron.  He couldn't understand why his best friend had something to hide from him.

"Oh Ron, you are such a guy!" laughed Hermione.  She found the look on his face quite amusing.

A/N:  I don't know who that girl is yet, but you all can be assured that it's not Hermione, Cho, or Ginny.  I think I'll end up making up a character.  She'll most likely be a fifth or sixth year.  If you couldn't figure it out, the trio is in their sixth year in this fic.  You can all be assured this won't be a Mary-Sue (I can't stand those!)  The made up character will be one that was there the whole time but was never mentioned in the books.  Any suggestions, constructive criticism, and praise are welcome in your reviews.  Flames are not welcome.  Please understand I don't take flames seriously, I simply point and laugh because when you flame at anyone, you don't tell them how they can improve.  Review now people!
